After enjoying the delights of the weather, we travelled to this pub after reading about it on this website (and recieving a Certificate of Excellence). We were not disappointed, and certainly lived up to its reputable state. After getting shown to a table very quickly, we ordered and it was soon on the table. The pie was superb, with large... More

The staff in this pub were very friendly and helpful, and went the extra mile to make sure we had a great evening. The atmosphere in the pub was warm and welcoming, and the decor was olde worlde, almost the epitome of an English country pub, set in beautiful countryside. There is good access for wheelchairs and clean modern toilets.... More

Came here last night for a meal with a few people from work. The service in the pub is great, they know they're stuff and always had a smile when serving Sadly the meals were not up to 4.5 rating on here. Was told by my friend to never get the haddock special, my burger was OK but nothing special.... More

We absolutely love eating here and always return as it's our favourite place to eat in Burton-on-Trent. The food is of the highest quality, service excellent and the atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. The Sundays roasts, the Anslow pie and fish dishes are superb. Would strongly recommend. Thanks to Marie and her very professional team.

Have eaten here a few times now and have never had a bad meal or received bad service. Usually attend mid week and have had quite a few different things off the menu. Thoroughly enjoyed the fillet and the chicken with feta. Used to enjoy the cheese pie when that was on the menu. Great food, great atmosphere and superb... More

We visited this restaurant / pub on a friends recommendation. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely polite young bar tender. We ordered a drink at the bar and he proceeded to show us to our table . A pleasant young waitress came to take our order . We chose a sharer plate the Camebert cheese with a... More

My family have been going to the Burnt Gate for years and we have always had a lovely time there. The food is always excellent and the staff are very friendly. One of the main reasons that we continously visit is because of the variety of interesting vegetarian dishes which we have had difficulty finding in other restaurants in the... More

This friendly and attractive pub on the Northern edge of Burton provides a relaxing atmosphere with a good choice of local real ales as well as lagers and ciders. Having been there on 4 occasions over a period of 18 months I can vouch for the fact that the welcome you are given when you go in remains constant as... More
