Have eaten here a few times now and have never had a bad meal or received bad service. Usually attend mid week and have had quite a few different things off the menu. Thoroughly enjoyed the fillet and the chicken with feta. Used to enjoy the cheese pie when that was on the menu. Great food, great atmosphere and superb... More

We visited this restaurant / pub on a friends recommendation. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely polite young bar tender. We ordered a drink at the bar and he proceeded to show us to our table . A pleasant young waitress came to take our order . We chose a sharer plate the Camebert cheese with a... More

My family have been going to the Burnt Gate for years and we have always had a lovely time there. The food is always excellent and the staff are very friendly. One of the main reasons that we continously visit is because of the variety of interesting vegetarian dishes which we have had difficulty finding in other restaurants in the... More

This friendly and attractive pub on the Northern edge of Burton provides a relaxing atmosphere with a good choice of local real ales as well as lagers and ciders. Having been there on 4 occasions over a period of 18 months I can vouch for the fact that the welcome you are given when you go in remains constant as... More

5 adults & 3 children went for Sunday lunch today. The menu was chicken and beef. The beef had sold out by 1.30 and we were offered lamb instead. We waited 40 minutes for it and when it arrived the portions were very mean indeed. One tiny Yorkshire pudding & one small slice of fatty lamb, most of which was... More

I am both disappointed and very surprised that you have found it necessary to write such a disparaging review. I asked to meet you to discuss your grievance as I felt it was the right thing to do in the circumstances, as I am both chef and owner and my customers are important to me. Having listened to what you... More

We arranged to have a meal and a beer here on the way to the St Georges FA Centre. As a party of 20 we settled for a fixed menu of beef or chicken both of which were excellent. This with a pint from the selection of ales made for a delightful stop in a country inn where the service... More

Recently visited this pub after my partner saw good reviews. I had the Anslow pie with chips. As this place had a good rating, the food was not inexpensive and there was a 25 minute cook time it didn't even cross my mind to ask if the chips were hand cut or frozen, I just expected them to be 'proper'... Visited this pub after seeing other comments on here, especially the good vegetarian food selection. I wasn't disappointed by the welcome and staff, which were excellent. The menu is good, with a reasonable choice of starters and mains for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. WE had starters and mains both of which were nice, and left no room for dessert.... More

Thank you for taking the trouble to write your review. I'm delighted to read you enjoyed your meals and that you received good service. I think you visited us at the start of the World Cup and it is unfortunate that it does have an impact on the number of visitors we have. Thank you again and we look forward... More
