Went here as was on a first date and wanted to find somewhere equidistant. So you can imagine we were both nervous having never met before. Would we meet in the car park exchange glances and retreat to our cars? Or would we cast our first glances upon each other and proceed into the warmth of the Burnt Gate. YES... More

Came here for meal 16th December for meal with my family. I have celiac disease and I am normally very limited when eating out. The menu here surpassed all my expectations. Such a brilliant choice. Each course was a bomb on my taste buds. Truly wonderful. The waiting staff were informative and polite. The break between each course was perfect.... More

Came upon this gem of a place when looking for somewhere to host a birthday meal for a party of 8, including 2 toddlers & a coeliac. Our first preference could not accommodate us, it being a Sunday & getting near Christmas. I must say we have never been so glad as the Burnt Gate is an excellent place, we... More

Went here on recommendation as my sister is celiac. She was very impressed to receive her own menu - not just one or two items, but a full menu! The food was delicious! Generous portions, all tasted fresh and quality. The beer was good too - Tollgate High Street, a fairly local brewery. We were made to feel very welcome... More

Went here the other week with friends - Great place with a very good atmosphere - I had the Anslow Pie - Wow. The whole meal was excellent but the Pie was Outstanding. We will be making a return visit.

I struggle with eating out due to gluten & dairy allergies plus another member of our party is vegetarian so accommodating everyone is a struggle when we go out. The food, atmosphere and staff here was all amazing with the restaurant having a separate gluten/dairy & vegan menu options. I picked up a loyalty card and will be heading back... More

Called in for a light lunch..well, I was very surprised about the choice and price of the menu....freshly cooked, piping hot and very tasty. The beer and wine were of excellent quality, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We will certainly be back when in the area.

My friends and I visited the Burnt Gate in early 2013 and had a truly wonderful night. We had a reunion there last night and sad to report it didn't live up to our expectations from our first experience. Some mains were not available and there was only one beer on tap to choose from. It was very quiet which... More

On a visit to Burton for weekend we popped in hoping to eat here with family of 5 on a Saturday night about 8. It was pretty much empty in the pub apart from a group of old couples in their 70s who glared when we were chatting and laughing. By the way we're not a noisy family! Menu choice... More

A fantastic country pub that I always enjoy visiting. The atmosphere is friendly, the staff very attentive and the food is home cooked and delicious. It's great to find somewhere that is so considerate about those with special diets and caters well for coeliacs, vegetarians, vegans & pescatarians. The spicy vegetarian crepe is so tasty I've had it twice!
