Great vegetarian selection

We went for an early evening family meal whilst in the area. The vegetarian options were wide ranging and interesting, pies/burgers/others. They ranged through starters, mains and in desserts, all on a specific menu to make choosing easier. Food was good. On the mezzo plate the carrot chutney... read more

We decided to go here last minute on a Friday night as we had heard good things. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly. We did have to wait a while for our main course after a starter, but once it came it was worth it! Good quality food in a nice restaurant area. It wasn't very busy... More

Went with my friend for a mid week lunch here. I'm reminded why I should visit more often as the food is the hottest ive had in many places & the staff are pleasant but not too intrusive. I feel they try hard to offer varied locally sourced food & it's not overpriced. There is also a good selection of... More

Lovely place. Delightful food. Went out of their way to cater for myself (celiac)and my small boys (dairy free). A gem. Just such a shame it does not seem busy. There are so few places that cater so well for such a varied diet. Well done burnt gate !!

Over the years we have used the Burnt gate and we have seen it change from mediocre to fine dining. Last night was a Saturday and it was a last minute thing, we phoned and asked for table and told, no problem when we arrived we could see why, the car park was virtually empty. Glad to be getting a... More

Ok I want to start this review by saying that the food that we received was good and was enjoyed by us both. So why the terrible rating you ask? Well let me explain. We arrived and were greeted by a polite bar lady who took our drinks order and showed us to our table. All good so far as... More

My Wife and I made a snap decision after shopping late in town to grab a bite on the way home and decided upon the Burnt Gate due to its extensive GF Free menu, what a treat! Scrumpy on draft and a GF Menu offering proper food! The Staff gave us a very warm welcome and excellent service throughout our... More

We arrived for dinner looking forward to our evening and happily suprised to see more than the usual customers present in the restaurant. We placed our drinks order and with being regular customers we knew what we wanted to eat and placed our food order shortly after receiving our first round of drinks. We understood as stated on the menu... More
