The Ramblers Retreat is an award winning country tearoom nestled in the Dimmingsdale, part of the beautiful Churnet Valley in Staffordshire. Our menu is homemade using only the best ingredients, many of which are sourced from local suppliers in the Staffordshire Moorlands. And as well as a delicious meal you can also enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of Dimmingsdale, this spectacular valley by following one of the established woodland walks. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Best steak pie in the Moorlands

Lovely during any season and great that dogs are allowed in the outdoor areas. I recommend the steak pie as it is delicious, as are the chips and gravy that accompanies it. Also if you order the lemon meringue for dessert it is HUGE!

We stumbled into the Ramblers garden after a walk in Dimmingsdale, only to find the garden deserted (presumably due to time of year and the time, late afternoon). The location here is spectacular, but it always grates on me that at the busy times, the canteen-style of the Ramblers means the beauty of the garden itself and the surroundings are... More

Simple home cooked food in stunning surroundings. A tad expensive for what it is, but always enjoyable.

We called in for a coffee and sat out in the garden the ambience is lovely and the staff are lovely. The price for the coffees was reasonable too. Would have loved to have eaten here as the food we saw looked very nice.

After a long walk from denstone this was perfect. The summer houses outside are perfect for keeping out of the cold with the dog. Reasonable prices. Good portion size. Fantastic chocolate fudge cake!! Big car park and good walking trails around.

Ramblers retreat isn't posh ..but it is a beautiful down to earth place to settle your bum after a walk in the country .. The food is homemade food and the puddings are gorgeous...
