I visited Ryan's Tavern for the first time last night, on a Thursday at 5:45pm. A group of ten, we made reservations. They put us in the private "Shamrock" room. We walked in and they were ready for us immediately. The lower level of the tavern is reminiscent of what an Irish Pub should be. However, the private room was... More

Typical selection of beers you would expect at an Irish Pub (e.g. Guinness, Harp, Bass) with a broader selection of entrees than you might expect. Service was good but the food quality was just decent. Quite noisy on the Saturday night that we visited. Given the lack of alternatives in the area, not a bad choice for a quick bite... More

We've met friends here several times to watch a football game. The upstairs lounge is good for that. The screen is large, and the drinks are reasonable. It's locally owned, too, so that's a plus.

I can only speak for myself but I got a Reuben that was, I think, $12.00. This is an Irish pub so I was expecting an amazing sandwich. When it came I was disappointed in how small it was. Very small with a teeny bowl of cole slaw. It tasted good but for the money I'll get a Reuben at... More

It was a good experience the 3 times I've been there. Good service and a neat location. Unfortunately downtown Hamilton is pretty empty now. The food was quite good!

Went up to Hamilton specifically to eat at Ryan's Tavern, had been there a couple years ago for a ghost tour, so wanted to try and eat somewhere different. I wanted a good selection of tap beers, which they have, and our dinners were good and served by a really nice gal. I love the tavern atmosphere the old wood... More

I ate here with a friend one evening once we arrived in Hamilton. I ordered a burger. It was good, but nothing special. It didn't seem to have any seasoning or flavorings on it. It was a little pricy as well.

My wife and I needed a place for a light meal for the night after a 14 hour car ride. Our hotel was downtown Hamilton and there is not a lot available nearby. We found this place about 4 blocks from the Marriott where we stayed. It is an Irish style pub. It really resembles a sports bar more than... More

Five of us ate at Ryan's and all enjoyed the meal. To begin with the ambience is great and the selection of beers is more than you need. I had recently heard about the Hot Brown, a dish made famous by the Brown Hotel in Lexington KY; I was surprised to see it on the menu at Ryan's and ordered... More

I've gone to Ryan's since it opened and, being as familiar as I am with Hamilton, I think that its importance to the health of the city justifies giving it four stars rather than the three I would otherwise rate it. It is a beautiful bar--by far the nicest in the city. And the Irish touches are simply wonderful. The... More
