Description: Relax and unwind while you enjoy the stunning views from our peaceful bedrooms, and outside dining area. The seasonal views of the Valley and Moors are breathtaking (the coastal mist adds real magic to the landscape). Lush green in the spring and summer and full of character and action in autumn and winter. Partridge, pheasant and deer are our companions in the milder months. Staying at The Culbone is a great way to experience life on Exmoor.

The location is perfect if you plan to do some walking. However don't be misled if you think you're booking a hotel in Porlocck itself You're not despite the address! It's several miles outside in an admittedly beautiful spot. Dinner was very good and beautifully presented with a good use of local produce. Service was helpful and efficient, and definitely... I visited with a large mixed age party for a birthday meal. My first comment (not criticism) is that this is not a great venue for children. We went on a Friday which we didn't know was fish night where, aside from a few specials, only seaford is on offer. Rightly or wrongly this is a problem with most children... More

Stopped for lunch here during a long day walking. Our dog was welcomed with great enthusiasm which pleased us! (Not for everyone I appreciate) Ordered a burger and a cottage pie. Both meals were really tasty. The atmosphere here is lovely and The Culbone has outstanding views of Exmoor. I understand they also have accommodation available. Can recommend

We went to this restuarant ,as we were staying in the area. I was celebrating a special birthday, and some of the family were joining us to celebrate with me. The staff were very attentive, the food was excellent and beautifully presented. The whole atmosphere of the place was very enjoyable , and we will certainly return if we are... More

We always visit The Culbone when staying in Porlock Weir, the food is amazing, service very good & scenery beautiful! We recently had a meal on the fish night & had fruits de mer, fish was freshest I've ever had, oysters were the best I've ever had!! Only fault is there is no separate lounge area to relax before &... More

We enjoyed a delicious evening meal at the Culbone to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was our first time and we chose to eat there having been unsuccessful in booking a room and noticing that it was a cookery school, restaurant and hotel. We were not disappointed. The food was well cooked and generous and all sourced locally. It... More

We loved our stay at The Culbone. The location is peaceful and wonderful views. Our room was perfect and we would have stayed longer if we could. I would recommend staying here. The hosts were friendly and welcoming.

My husband and I had an enjoyable meal on a busy Saturday evening. Service was efficient and friendly. Neither of us were very hungry (an overindulgent cream tea earlier! ) so we shared the crab cake starter and good job too as it was quite large. Then I had another starter, the spicy king prawns, for my main. Husband had... More

We went to The Culbone for my Wife's Birthday for dinner (some weeks ago) and after seeing the video on food sourcing and preparation I had high expectations. I can only say that myself and my Wife were extremely disappointed. As someone who prides themselves on cooking and marinating meat expertly over (24-48 hrs) I thought that having seen their...
