Relax and unwind while you enjoy the stunning views from our peaceful bedrooms, and outside dining area. The seasonal views of the Valley and Moors are breathtaking (the coastal mist adds real magic to the landscape). Lush green in the spring and summer and full of character and action in autumn and winter. Partridge, pheasant and deer are our companions in the milder months. Staying at The Culbone is a great way to experience life on Exmoor.

Great food great service

We ate here last week after hearing good things about the culbone. We weren't disappointed, we all had very good food, and a very pleasant service, we will definitely visit again , and maybe try n get to one of their theme nights.

Great meals of local produce and daily fresh fish from the team of this family-run Restaurant. Themed evenings. A great welcome and ambiance awaits you - even for your pooch! Rooms available. Why not celebrate an anniversary/party here?

We'd heard great things about the Culbone but we didn't find it to be anything special. The service was good but the food was nothing special and I'm always turned off when a fairly expensive dish comes with tasteless oven chips. Not a great evening.

Food was good. Bit pricey. Staff though were very good. Just one thing. There was a till between us and another table and the staff had to keep coming between us and the other table to acccess the till. I think it would be better to resite the till. Small thing but it would have enhanced our visit.

10 of us had a great Sunday lunch on 3rd may. Delicious roasts with all the trimmings, as well as a wider menu. We revisited it for lunch a couple of days ago, just 5 of us. Not busy then, but still great food and service.Very friendly and a real treat.

Went on a bank holiday Monday evening & surprised & a little worried to find we were the only customers apart from some one at the bar. However, service was prompt, efficient & polite. Food was delicious, looked good on the plate & very generous portions. Courgette chips were crunchy & perfectly cooked & not in the least bit fatty.... More

A lovely restaurant with great atmosphere and really friendly staff who are proud of their menu. Both dishes we had were excellent - pork loin and steak - all cooked perfectly. Deserts were excellent too, with the sticky toffee pudding having the edge over the chocolate fondant. When we next visit this area, I am sure we will return for... More

We live locally so have visited the Culbone for many years. The present owners have listened to customers. We are always made very welcome. I was given a complimentary glass of Prosecco with a big strawberry as it was my birthday. The service was perfect as was the food. The red wine was gorgeous and complimented the meals. Three of... Following a walk with a friend and two dogs, we went to the Culbone for Saturday lunch. We were greeted by incredibly friendly staff and offered a table with great views of their grounds. The dogs (Labrador and Schnauzer - so not small) were very welcome and were given a treat each. The food was delicious - didn't have a... More
