Relax and unwind while you enjoy the stunning views from our peaceful bedrooms, and outside dining area. The seasonal views of the Valley and Moors are breathtaking (the coastal mist adds real magic to the landscape). Lush green in the spring and summer and full of character and action in autumn and winter. Partridge, pheasant and deer are our companions in the milder months. Staying at The Culbone is a great way to experience life on Exmoor.

Possibly more than 30 years since last visit !! Gone is the typical Exmoor pub with iffy beer and crisps..... Now we have large car park and on entrance a large room set out as a restaurant. Not quite what we expected on Exmoor, but on approaching the bar, received a friendly welcome and given a menu, not extensive but... More

In the middle of nowhere, you really have to make an effort to get to the culbone, and we felt that the effort just wasn't worth it. Half of the menu was unavailable, and all really that was left was steaks, which were served with salad and a jus, Salad and a Jus together? come on chef!

The Culbone is nestled at the top of Porlock Hill on the main road. If you are passing or if you are in the area you really must pay this establishment a visit. We live in Gloucestershire, but we have driven down for the day just to have and enjoy what can only be described as first class food and... More

We live just down the hill from The Culbone and every chance we get we come up for a really enjoyable meal. We are always made welcome and The Culbone's 'dogs welcome' policy mean that we can have our little Yorkie under the table while we enjoy excellent cuisine above. Even our daughter-in-law, who is very choosy about restaurants, loves... More

Found the Culbone to be a very friendly and welcoming place. The food was excellent eating Devon Red Beef which melted in the mouth. Bar staff were very accommodating and very helpful and friendly, dogs also welcome. I thought the food was really good value and just the right amount of choice. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

Large, airy and modern, this restaurant is a real gem in an area full of tea-shops and crowded pub restaurants. Well worth seeking out if you want a special meal with good wine.

Stayed at The Culbone for a long weekend walking holiday in May this year.We arrived early evening and were asked , if we would like to, but certainly not pushed to have our evening meal there. Suffice it to say we ended up eating at The Culbone for each night of our stay. The restaurant is excellent with good food... More

Had a fabulous Sunday roast beef dinner at the Culbone. Probably best roast potatoes ever! Honest British homecooked food, no frills and gimmicks. People who care about taste and where their food is sourced will enjoy eating here. Very friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere, made it most enjoyable experience.
