Lovely traditional inn, very good food

Lovely little inn and enjoyed a good meal and real ales. Highly recommended - just starts a little late for some. 6.30 onwards so be aware.

Fantastic atmosphere, great value. If you ever see homemade steak, mushroom and Stilton pie you'd be silly not to go for it!

This pub is well worth a visit if only for it's real ales. Try the DOOM BAR, it's kept well and serves like a pint should be served, nice creamy head. This is a busy pub so if you wish to eat book early. Although we didn't eat (left it too late) the food looked good and was well received... More

This traditional village pub is under new management & the food & service is top notch. A warm welcome upon entering from enthusiastic and chatty staff, traditional pub fayre and pool table with juke box.

My colleague and I visited The Royal Oak whilst staying next door at The Cottage (B&B Excellent) and found it had a very good atmosphere (a lot of locals), very attentive and friendly propiertors and reasonable prices for drink and foods. I was going to give a four rating until our steak, chips, tomato and onion rings £14.75 (cooked as required one... More

Our local pub has been taken over by new, young owners and the place has again become the centre of village life with a very lively atmosphere and whilst I haven't eaten there yet, the food looks and smells delicious! Do go and see for yourself

We have been to The Oak many times so I thought, after our latest trip there, I ought to review them. Great choice of ales. Nice locals atmosphere. Very friendly bar staff, giving service with a genuine smile. Not bad prices on drinks. The food is exactly what is says on the tin. It's well priced good pub grub. Long... More

We have been visiting porlock for 25 years and The Royal Oak has changed hands a few times. New couple owning it now originally from Walsall! Us being from the midlands ourselves liked this idea! It was full of customers, bit like the old days when it was run by Mo. Fantastic atmosphere. Will be returning in a couple of... More
