Warm friendly welcome. Good choice on standard menu plus specials board. My eldery father in law was able to have a smaller portion which was still a good plate full. Food very tasty and piping hot.Good wheelchair access from the rear of the pub. Seating area for families

We went to book a table for 2 for 7pm and the lovely lady behind the bar told us there was a large table coming in so could we make it later? We opted for 8pm, when we arrived our table was pointed out to us, as we had already seen the menu we ordered immediately but still waited 45... More

We had a breaded mushroom starter and it was large for a starter and it was very nice. My partner had moussaka, which I sampled and it was very tasty. I had salmon, which was a bit dry but still very nice. The bar staff were very friendly and seemed to get along with the locals. There was a quiz... More

Food was wonderful as was the ambiance. The locals were especially interesting. The beer was good and service was notable.

This is very friendly welcoming pub. We ate thier twice , whilst camping at the Sparkhayes Campsite which is 2 minutes walk away. The food though not spectacular was standard middle of the range pub food , well cooked and not over charged for and enjoyable.

We booked as there was an American Themed evening - choices limited but hit the spots. My partner and I had different mains which we really enjoyed and the same starter. Wonderful

On our first attempt at eating in the Royal Oak, we were told no further meal orders were being taken as they were too busy (7.45 Saturday night, with empty tables visible and the bar not that full). On our next attempt (Tuesday 2pm), we were welcomed but a large party of 12 arrived immediately after us - their order... More

We have been in this place last week. Food terrible, but as it is cheap, what to expect. My dog is eating better. Staff rude. You are feel unwelcome, like an intruder. Don't go there. Better buy a bread in the shop. You will save your stomach.

This the first pub that we visited in Porlock and the young girl behind the bar was very friendly... The local Ales were pretty good too...
