We met with friends on a Wednesday for lunch at this pub which we had booked in advance as it was a good halfway point between Bridport and North Devon. We received a very warm welcome and very good and helpful service throughout our lunch....Really good selections on the menu and two of had the pork dish and two had the cod. all the food was cooked to perfection and very flavoursome. I personally thought the beer battered cod was the best I had eaten for a long while. Good selection of draught beers, ciders and house wines. Thank you all at the Five Dials for a very enjoyable lunch.More

What an amazing country pub. Great atmosphere & very warm welcome from the girls behind the bar. Went on first night of our stay at the most beautiful holiday cottage down the road then went back to have a meal on the second night. Food...was fantastic as was the service. Only down sides was that it was way too hot & made dining very uncomfortable. & the t-towels on the girls shoulders…. Not very nice at all.. Not enough to mark this place down Would definately visit again if in the area Many thanks girlsMore

We came as a group from work. We were warmly welcomed and well looked after throughout. The food was outstanding and very well presented. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Lovely pub, I had a wonderful vegetarian butternut squash tart main, it was delicious, best meal I’ve had for ages. My family had roasts and enjoyed them but did want a few more sprouts.

Visited on Saturday for dinner on the recommendation of our AirBnB owners - it was only a 5 minute drive away. Arrived to find a very full car-park - just managed to squeeze into the last remaining space! Inside we were originally shown to a...table right on the edge of the restaurant area next to the bar right behind some very loudly singing locals - we immediately asked if we could be seated further inside the restaurant where it was quieter and thankfully this request was met. After that everything was excellent - lovely staff, some great local Harry's cider and both out mains (duck leg and sea bream) were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended and justifiably very popular!More

Went to the 5 Dials in Horton for a Sunday Roast with my wife and have to say it's one of the best we've had for ages and we go out quite regularly. The service was great, the food top notch, plenty of meat with...a great selection of vegetables and gravy. It was so filling that as lovely as the puddings that were being served looked we couldn't fit anymore in. All of this for a very reasonable cost. Couldn't recommend it too highly enough. We will return for more during our stay.More

On holiday in the area, so booked here for my husband and I for Sunday Lunch. We were not disappointed! in fact we agreed it is tastiest Sunday lunch we have had out in a very long time. Both had the rump of beef, which...was cooked to perfection as was the crispy roasted potatoes and the Yorkshire puddings were absolutely delicious, a lovely selection of veg completed our meal. We were too full for a desert but they looked very appetising. Our dog was also made very welcome, always a plus when on holiday. We can highly recommend The Five Dials Inn.More

Sunday night meal. Not sure I made the right choices. I had the steak and ale pie. Too much pastry and steak too dry inside. My indigestion gave me a sleepless and an uncomfortable night. Next time I will stick to the fish or chicken.

On our way to Devon and Cornwall and decided to have an overnight stop (Sunday). Had difficulty in finding a `decent` hotel around the Honiton area that also had a restaurant. However the 5 Dials came up and was open with a restaurant and we...decided to book in for a night. We were not disappointed - great hosts Sarah & Paul - comfortable room with large bathroom and bath. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant and a night cap in the bar - a tasty breakfast in the morning that set us on our next leg of the journey. A great hotel / restaurant / bar to break up the long journey. We would recommend. Steve & JillMore
