We came here over the weekend after reading other reviews. Food was delicious- we shared a antipasti starter, and then for mains we had pizza and then the chicken, both of which were really nice. Then, we managed to squeeze in a hazelnut panacotta for pudding. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, my impression is it is a hidden gem, as... More

Lovely setting and lovely building. Started with drinks in the lounge which was nice, were served Garlic bread etc. Sat down and a polite girl took our order. I had the sirloin med-rare which was cooked well - although as the meat was thin it was a little anaemic on the outside. Chips and sides were lovely, choice of steak... More

The restaurant at the grange is open from 6pm - 11pm, according to their website. So for a reservation at 7pm one would expect that by turning up just beforehand the door would be open and staff ready to greet you. Not the case. We had a reservation for a Saturday night and found the door locked. However the chefs... More

Four of us booked on a Thursday evening in December and were amazed to find just one other table of four in residence for the whole evening. One chef was on duty, and just a maitre'd who served ar table, there was nobody else there. Having said that, the four of us had the mixed shared starter, followed by the... More

Our 2nd time here for a special night out. Food was fabulous in very pleasant surroundings. Service was good. What more could you want. Sirloin steaks were particularly good. cooked to perfection and great cuts of meat - supplied by the local butcher I believe. Cayfords in Frome. The Sole too was excellent

I tried to book a large birthday party here but they were so unhelpful and kept changing the pricing so I gave up. I've never eaten here so can't give a view on that although I approached them in the first place on the recommendation of friend's. But my experience hasn't encouraged me to go back. I wouldn't say don't... More

Look, I've eaten here several times for lunch so I do keep coming back but it's hope triumphing over experience, sadly. The Grange is a famous cookery school with restaurant attached. One wonders if rookie students are let loose on the unsuspecting public. It's a restaurant in a nice airy (always empty) room with a great outside bit that the... More

With a party of 16 adults and 2 toddlers we knew the private dining room would be perfect for us to celebrate over Sunday lunch. We were given a lovely menu to chose from with three roasts and three deserts and sorted everything out easily in advance. The room was beautifully prepared for us with table decorations, the fire lit... More

Again reading some of the 'one star' reports it makes me realise they are to be discounted. Similarly the ecstatic five stars. Possibly people did have an awful time or a perfect one but for us it was good apart from one thing. The waitress was excellent, attentive and accurate on our orders. The white wine was chilled, the food... More
