Paddy's done it again (for the 5th time in a row). Best wine pub in England. The whole place is just amazing. The food is brilliant and what Paddy does'nt know about wine could easily be put on the back of a postage stamp. Whenever we are in Dulverton, our Mecca for an evening meal is Woods! There is just... Walked off the central streets of this pretty little village into a warm and welcoming bolt hole just before the main church. The bar is suitably scruffy to make all feel welcome walkers, workers, passing tourists, then the restaurant goes up a level with a great menu at a fair price and a wine list to drool over. Seriously good... More

This Pub/Restaurant is a real find in the heart of Exmoor - booking is needed but well worth it - food is FAB, service and staff very friendly and helpful - and very good value for money. Also - it's consistent - we have been going there over several years now and never disappointed.

Woods was recommended by a friend and as first-time visitors to Dulverton, we probably wouldn't have decided to lunch in "woods" because the exterior looks like a typical pub rather than a restaurant. The interior is very "Exmoor" with all the hunting trophies on the walls - possibly not for sensitive vegetarians - but an enjoyable ambience for others. The... More

A great find. From the plaques on the wall, this place regularly wins "wine pub of the year" and it is clear why. There is a wonderful restaurant with great food and a varied menu. There is also a pub/bar area with real ale straight from the cask and the truly massive wine list is also available in the bar.... More

Myself and 4 friends were booked in a restaurant in Bampton but got a call the day before to say they were closed on Tuesdays. Well we were the winners as went along to Woods instead. A warm welcome friendly atmosphere, good wine and food. Well worth a visit. Looking forward to returning.

I love this place but someone was having an off day. Went here last night and I have to say the wine was lovely, great recommendations. My husband had the soup, If you had asked me what it was I could not have told you from the taste alone, it was very bland not great. I have goats cheese salad... More

We called the Woods for a drink and we received a great welcome almost as if we were locals, it was clearly a locals bar and sometimes you feel like an intruder, but not here everyone spoke and made a great fuss of our Yorkie, one guy who hadn't got a dog just pulled some gravy bones (Dog treats) out...
