What a find! This is a lovely little place. You must book to avoid being disappointed! It took us three nights before we could get in! The food is spot on and the staff are extremely friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. The selection on the menu is regularly changed and is always that little bit different. Our... This restaurant has to be a favourite. From the moment we walked in I knew it was going to be good. The traditional bar set up and open fire gave it a warm friendly feel. The menu catered for all ages in our party (from 2.5yrs to 72yrs), the wine list was pretty extensive too. The food that arrived was... More

My wife and I were last at Woods in 2007 - so it's particularly pleasing to note that if anything, it's got even better. I love the ambience here, very relaxed and in no way pretentious. The food we had was excellent (the lamb was superb) and the completeness of the wine list and owner's advice to go with it... More

We have recently returned from 3 glorious days in Dulverton, and needless to say our evening meals were at Woods. The excellent standard of food in this establishment NEVER changes, and their Creme Brulee is to die for. The "Rib-eye" steak was cooked to perfection, and needless to say the place was always full. If you want the best meal... More

Dulverton is a lovely place in the middle of Exmoor. I had not been before, but my husband had as a child, so we stopped over on a rainy Friday in March. We were surprised to find the village busy, and looked around for somewhere to eat. Woods is near the church and as we walked up the street, we... More

We have been coming Woods for years. It's rare to find a really great place that just stays really great - but Woods does just that. Lovely people, great beer and really wonderful food. Wines are exceptional at all prices! If you are in the general area and you don't visit, then you've made a big booboo!!

The food on the 2 occasions we ate there was fantastic. The fish and chips on the second day was by far the best fish we have ever tasted and we have both travelled the world. The staff were so friendly and considerate. They were also great fun. I would highly recomend this resturant to anyone.

We went to Woods recently for lunch and I can't say it was a dreadful experience but the service we had from the mature lady that served our table was to say the least slow, she didn't concentrate on one thing at a time so we waited a good 6-7 mins for some mustard . Our steak was very well... More
