Cosy, quirky bar / pub / restaurant that serves great food and good service. The food is excellent value considering the high quality. In a small postcard village it's a must visit.

Booked for a birthday lunch. Service was slow even though we where first ones in there. The soup was tasteless and my son couldn't finish it. We asked for a rare steak only to have it cooked and very chewy. We where all bit disappointed with a very average meal pleased to see that the portion sizes had increased since... More

If I was a judge on Master Chef, the professionals I would have enough superlatives in my vocabulary to describe 'Woods' accurately, however I am not but I will do my best! Despite us being there on Wednesday lunchtime the atmosphere was lovely and warm with a fine mixture of locals and diners, aided I must add by a log... More

Went to the restaurant having been told of its reputation and to celebrate my wife's birthday. It lived up to expectations on a cold ,wet winters night. The food was excellent,as well as the ambience. The owner Paddy was an interesting person to talk to and share his knowledge of wine & supplies most of the meat from his own... More

Another great meal ! You can't beat the atmosphere , friendly attentive staff and great food and wine at Woods. The rib eye steak was sublime perfectly cooked, my wife's mushroom tagliatelle was great too, and the puddings -- Sticky toffee and Panacotta are worth the drive on thief own. Woods is like a comfort blanket you feel wrapped up... More
