Great food, friendly service

Visited Woods with friends for lunch. Welcomed by two very friendly and helpful, young staff. Very pleasant seating area with lots of character. Starters of salmon with a faux caviar was delicious, the goats cheese equally delicious. Mains consisted of sirloin steaks cooked to perfection, one small... read more

Truly great food, really imaginative. Sadly let down by a waiter who did not fill the wine glass properly and took twenty minutes to bring the bill.

We booked a table at 7 and waited until 8.15 for our mains....lovely starter but fish over seasoned. Very disappointed...the restaurant seemed to have booked too many people in to dine an couldn't cope

It was a warm evening in Dulverton and the ever popular but unfortunately far too small Bridge Inn was fully booked. We enjoyed a pint of Exmoor Ale in fine fettle but really wanted to eat. It was then that I recalled the recommended Woods Public Bar and Dining Rooms in nearby Bank Street. It is an unusual looking establishment... More

This is a marvellous restaurant with a fabulous wine list. The food is on the upper level of price, but quality I think matches it and beyond. The atmosphere is excellent, and service prompt, friendly and efficient. It's one of those restaurants you think you'd happily go to once a week and would never let you down. It's a model... More

We called in for just a light meal and wanted the bar menu, the waitress said we could sit in the restaurant and still eat from the bar menu as the bar was full. We even got the complimentary small cup of home made soup. We had the fish and chips from the quite small bar menu, the batter on... More

We arrived in Dulverton about 20:00 and just went in and asked if we could have a table. We had the dog and frankly we had driven a long way and needed a rest. We were welcomed like old friends and fed well. What a great place to find by accident!

Lovely staff. Took us to our table and were very attentive. The menu was extremely good and varied. We were served some appetisers of cheese balls deep fried with a home made chutney. There was an extensive wine list and a wine waiter to go through it all with you. (A bit too much for me). I had the chicken... More
