Family lunch with wonderful food, friendly atmosphere and amazing value. Better than more expensive pretentious pubs!

Met friends for lunch today. ordered Chicken chasseur pie and chips from the lunchtime £5 menu and wasn't sure what to expect but I've paid double this and had much worse. Pie full of chicken and chips were among the best I've tasted. The Christmas Pudding afterwards was good too. We will be back.

We stopped on a Saturday lunchtime for some pub grub when passing on the way to Wells. It had a lovely vibe and wasn't too busy for that time on a Saturday. I got the sausage and mash for five pounds and was surprised when I got three reasonably sized sausages and a huge mound of mash! Normally these deals... More

A friend and I ate here yesterday lunchtime, after a morning of walking on the Somerset Levels and up to the top of Burrow Mump. We have never been here before, so, although I had been on-line to check out the menu, you never know what to expect. We arrived, very muddy from our walk but the Landlady was more... More

Visited friendsin Burrowbridge last weekend. They live 50yards from pub. Pub was busy at 8.00pm on Friday night. Good choice of food and service was good. Food was excellent. Great selection of Real Ales including Butcombe Bitter and Otter Bitter both very drinkable. A bit too much during the course of the weekend. Welk worth a visit.

Met here for a walk before lunch with friends and I was pleasantly surprised by the £5 lunch menu specials. The venison, port and cranberry pie was very tasty and came with a choice of chips, mash or new potatoes and peas for £5. We all enjoyed our meals and the drink prices were very reasonable too. The food was... More

I can not praise this pub enough. Fabulous atmosphere and I had one of the tastiest beef and ale pies I have ever had. The icing on the cake was it was £5.00 and yes you did read that right. However if you want to go on the Wednesday special you have to book as obviously they get booked up... More

Had the pleasure of attending a dinner at the place before a friend's wedding, both the management and staff were extremely helpful and polite. The food was excellent. I look forward to staying there in the near future. It is well worth the visit if you are in the area.
