I am incredibly fussy when it comes to eating out, I literally visit places at least once to suss out the hygiene and feel before I eat. We had an incredibly warm welcome, my three children who are all under8 were given crayons, paper and toys to play with whilst we waited for our food. Which in fact was a... More

Had a fantastic steak and rib stack, a very good pint of ale in a welcoming and warm pub, all served with a smile and a good price, in fact stop reading this and go there now.

Very friendly welcome. Beautiful log fire. Three friends were given time to choose from an interesting and varied menu. Staff were willing to accommodate all our needs by changing the vegetable selection to suit us. Bonus was a salad bar with crisp fresh veg. The main meal portions were generous. No space left for dessert. !!!!!! Staff were attentive to... More

Visited this pub last week, just to try something different. The experience I can say was terrible. Location is very out of the way, which may contribute to why it was so quiet on a Saturday night, but then again the quality of food was terrible and the room in which we were seated was void of any decoration, and... Me and a couple friends decided to visit as we hadnt been before. Was greeted and seated immediately by friendly, welcoming staff. There was an open fire which we enjoyed on a cold January night. Relaxed atmosphere and quaint decor. The food was very well cooked and at a very reasonable price. Plus a free salad bar!! Can't wait to... More

We came for an 80th birthday evening celebration and all 22 of us had a really good time, many thanks to Emma and the team there on the night. Our pre-booked 3 course dinner had allowed for plenty of choice. The fig and goat cheese parcels, stilton and broccoli soup, garlic mushrooms and pate were a resounding success. For the... More

If you want a warm welcome where children are allowed and the staff are very friendly then this is the place to come. Its one of those 'arrive as strangers, leave as friends' places. Compared to another local pub up the road who essentially said when asked if they did a children menu and given a response of "we don't... More

Came here with my partner and had such a fantastic meal we cannot wait to return. I had the homemade cottage pie ( god knows what the last review was about) but it was lovely just like my mum used to make. My partner had the ribeye steak which was cooked just as ask medium which in most places get... More
