Went here last week for lunch. There was 4 of us and we all had the set lunch menu of either 2 courses or 3. The food was very good and fresh. We did wait a little for it but it was worth it. All the food was tasty, fresh and hot. The service was good also. The drinks were... More

I came for dinner at Queens Head yesterday with my boyfriend and my daughter and have been in the past on various occasions even if its for just a drink. The food was excellent quality and priced accordingly to what was ordered, the staff were outstanding to our demands (Neve) especially and would definitely recommend it for a sociable beverage... I visited a while ago with friends and was disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options. I had veggie lasagne (how imaginative) and hoped that the quality and taste would make up for the lack of choice but it was quite bland and I enjoyed the garlic bread accompaniment more than the main dish. It also wasn't fresh, it tasted... More

This was a nice dinner we had yummy pork scratchings and garlic bread with cheese to start- we shouldn't have been so greedy as I couldn't finish the main course, we both chose a fairly spicy chicken curry with half rice, half chips and naan bread. No room for pud which I'm sure would have been good. I gave it... More

Booked table here on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago, arrived to friendly staff and shown to table straight away. Menu`s were bought to us and we ordered , our food was bought to us very quickly, and it was delicious. We had steak and chips, and a chicken dish with chips - we even squeezed in a... More

I have been eating at the queens head for many years on a regular basis, and am rarely able to fault the quality of the food. Good value at all times, There are 2 things that I always notice though...some of the bar staff need to try smiling, and for goodness sake...paint or update the tables...chipping varnish is not attractive... We visited the Queens Head for lunch - three adults and two children. It was a Sunday, so we made a simple choice of three Sunday roasts for the adults plus two pizzas from the children's menu. The menu looked good and the surroundings were very pleasant. Some 40 minutes went by and just as we were starting to get... More

We have been looking for somewhere to eat that feels welcoming and serves delicious food. By the canal we found the Queens Head and were not disappointed. Love the decor. The staff were extremely polite and friendly. Questioned what the meatballs were made from and was no trouble for them to find out. The menu gives you plenty of choices.... More

Apart from some very strange people sitting outside when we arrived we were alone inside for what seemed like an age before anyone arrived. We had a table in the conservatory and drinks came promptly. The food we ordered was hot but tasteless and bland. There was lots of it but it was still not good. Won't go back!
