My girlfriend and I stopped off here for some lunch on the way to Snowdonia. It was ideally located about 15 seconds off the A5. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was excellent and amazing value. I am very glad we stopped off at The Queens Head and would visit again if going in the same direction.

We ate at The Queens Head one evening whilst staying in a cottage nearby and was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the food. The menu was interesting, with many specials also available, and all priced very reasonably - even more so when you appreciate the quality. I had the rump steak and it was one of the best... More

Excellent meal today with friends. Slightly bigger choice than I would like at lunchtime but choices made eventually. Homemade soup, scallops with black pudding, grilled chicken and roasted garlic mushrooms for starters arrived beautifully presented and piping hot! Chicken in Shropshire blue cheese sauce, scampi, steak & ale pie and mushroom & cranberry Wellington for main course were equally as... More

Please, please spend a bit of money on cleaning the seat upholstery. My scruffy jeans felt like they needed a good wash after sitting on them. Generally the place feels like it needs a good scrub. Go in and have a look and you'll see what I mean. Food felt like it had been prepared by an accountant not a... More

We go here as you generally know what you are getting. We have been many times over the last few years and never any problems. The menu has reduced somewhat during that time and unfortunately some of our favourites are no longer on there. There is a definite lean towards fish and seafood. The food was better when we first... Great choice of food and smaller portions if required. Excellent value for money and right on the canal for walkers. Service is not overly friendly though.

We organised a family meal for Boxing Day, 15 of us. We pre-booked our meals in advance, which was a great idea. The food was served promptly and everyone enjoyed it, well presented and very tasty. Very nice atmosphere and from the initial enquiry through to paying the bill, could not fault the service we received. Would highly recommend -... More

had a lovely meal. Very welcoming. Food was delicious I had a rump steak and was cooked perfect. My husband had the SHROPSHIRE blue chicken which was very tasty. Plenty of vegetables with a choice of either vegetables or salad, chips, jacket potato or potatoes. Even though it was very busy and the waitresses and bar staff were busy they... More
