Great value

Called in whilst driving home at 4pm on Wednesday evening. Only a couple of people in the restaurant, although a few tables were already marked as reserved, so guess it is busy later on. The lunch menu was 12 until 6pm with choices at £6.95 each. Portion sizes were good - my wife had the club... read more

Friendly staff and good menu, with a specials board too. Nice wine and good choice of all beverages. Good for couples and families too. My ten year old daughter feels really grown up when we go here.

We eat here more than any other local hostelry because our kids love it. First time visit as part of a large party - fourteen of us - and the QH continues to excel. Excellent range of seafood and the paella is always superb. High quality children's meals and very good puds, all served with artistic flair and presentation. Pub... More

Came here with a couple of work colleagues after a long Open Day and was very pleasantly surprised. This is a proper, authentic pub with great wine and fab food. All of our portions were generous ( Caesar Salad with chicken and bacon, pork roast dinner and carbonara) and all very reasonably priced. The roast dinner was great value for... More

We decided to book a table at the Queen's Head this Sunday for their roast, with a party of four. However, when we were seated and given the menus, there was no mention of any Sunday roast, disregarding what was mentioned online on their website. So we chose from the menu with one meal from the specials board. After waiting... More

We decided to try this pub after shopping in Oswestry, the first thing I noticed when I entered the pub was an unpleasant musty smell, we decided to sit in the conservatory and asked for a high chair for my youngest, the chair that was provided was disgusting, it was dirty, old and the back of the chair was reclined... Oh, the gluten free food! I wanted to eat more then I could possibly fit in just because it all looked sooooooo good. I could not resist having gluten free onion rings (which I refused to share) and even some pork scratchings to start, then the marvellous payella which even had clams in as well (very authentic!) and finally the... Fancying good pub grub I decided on the Queen' Head at Oswestry. On arrival my pre ordered table was ready. The staff very polite and accommodating! I was spoilt for choice as plenty of options to suit everyone. I even noticed gluten free meals. I opted for the whole grilled dover sole with new potatoes and vegetables. My daughter had... More

We have been visiting The Queens Head regularly for the last 2 years. The restaurant being ideally situated for our journey between London and North Wales. The food has always been of good quality and excellent value. The service is attentive and very efficient. The menu and specials offer a good choice. Portion size is ample. The restaurant is more...
