Four of us visited while on a shopping day out, two had the Roast dinners which were OK but swimming in very thin gravy, the other two lunches were Cheese and Onion pies these were served with chips that were mushy and had a strange look, they were also swimming in the same thin gravy. I must admit I would... More

Called here on a freezing wet day,the place was nice and warm and cosy. The chap serving was friendly and saw to our needs throughout the meal.We both had meat pie, veg. and chips, these were home cooked ,the servings were huge and on hot plates (i hate cold plates). The bill was £12 for two inc teas. This has got to be the best... I was really surprised in Oswestry. Good valued lunches that really hit the spot. Would definitely try again.

Went in there at noon on Thursday, waited 22min to get served for late breakfast, food took another 37min, most of it was under cooked, sausage raw in middle, eggs not cooked, bacon that was half fat, even the toast was dry and cold, never received our drinks with meal and my friend was told to get his own glass... We went here as we fancied a roast lunch on a Friday. You receive a warm friendly welcome and a menu that is simple and straight to the point. The food was served quickly and very tasty homecooked food. Ideal for breakfast, roast lunch or quick bite to eat.

Nicely priced meals, but overall just average food. Went in for lunch and was quite crowded. Seems to cater more for food on a lunch time than as a pub.

Not as it should really matter as the food is OK at the Oswestrian. But it would have been nice to have been warned that the Oswestrian is the local Conservative club which has been opened to the public.
