If you are on a narrow boat on the Llangollen canal, don't miss this pub. Very friendly staff, good food and nice atmosphere makes this a an excellent place to moor in the evening. When we entered and said we wanted to have dinner, we were told that there was a waiting time for about 30 mins, we didn't understand... More

We decided to call into the Jack Mytton for lunch and a pint. However they stop taking orders at 14.30 and so decided to have a drink instead and come back in the evening. Our boat being moored at the bottom of the garden meant we did not have far to walk. My wife and I only drink draught Guinness... More

You have to know where this is, just off the road from Whittington to Ellesmere. First impressions leave you feeling slightly unease but the food was good and reasonably prices off the bar menu. They should do more with the garden which would improve the outside eating experience no end.

Visited when passing as part of a canal boat holiday on the Llangollen canal. So good, again we visited twice, the pub is full of character, bustling with locals and holiday makers which blended well together. It has a charming restaurant attached, meals on offer were plentiful and varied, with 'deals' for two or three courses in some cases. Staff... More

Great quality food and real ale, lovely location next to the canal Bar area is too small so don't eat in there or you'll have people queueing for drinks standing over you as you eat!

We were on a canal boat and visited this pub for lunch. It is a great canal stopping point but beware they are not open Monday lunch times which is surprising since we would have called there on the way down the canal. However we did call there on the way back on a Thursday. I think they are missing... More

Found this place one afternoon after moving to the area. It's situated right on the canal and is a mix of very old pub with new restaurant at the back. Service is good, food made to order so not quick but worth the wait. Food always tasty, good portion sizes - we have been back lots of times now and... More

Went for dinner near the end of our trip, good food, well cooked, and well appreciated whilst traveling on the Llangollen Canal.

The 6 of us arrived a couple of days ago from a narrowboat. The bar area was full and as we had the dog and couldn't use the restaurant were offered the conservatory. This was fine but we were the only customers in there so it was cold and lacking in atmosphere. My son's friend and my son, aged 14... More

This is a lovely pub/restaurant we found whilst on a canal boat holiday. It's a gorgeous, quirky, comfortable pub with a really nice dining space. We were told right away that although we were there almost right on opening, there would be a wait for the food. So, we ordered, sat back with our drinks and waited. And dear reader,... More
