Called today after a lovely walk but it was closed unfortunately due to refurbishment by the new owner who was very pleasant and hopes to reopen in the next couple of weeks.

Absolutely wonderful food! Great atmosphere too, typical country pub with real ales on tap! Right next to the canal! Beautiful setting! We ordered T-bone steak and fish & chips, the portions were great, real home made chips which were delicious! Steak was amazing as was the fish! All perfectly cooked! Will return here as the prices are also reasonable! Don't... More

Thank you for visiting and yes, the Jack Mytton has just changed hands and as new owners we want to make it look its very best for our old and new customers. We have shut the doors to allow essential refit and decorating to take place - as well as plan a new menu of the best of British food... More

I have never been to such a odd place.... It seems to be stuck in the 80's according to the decor and the drinks lines have not been cleaned since then either! Ordered 2 draft drink and sent them both back, the bar staff seemed to be expecting them back as well.... If it smells off don't serve it! The... More

Like - the food, setting right on the canal, always good service even when we visit with our baby, not too expensive. Dislike - short opening times, place is usually fairly quiet which is a real shame. Tip - as its a bit out of the way, phone first to check its open.

Nicely located on the Llangollen Canal with moorings out the front for us canal travellers. A place full of character and charm. Excellent service, good meals and snacks. We have been here on numerous occasions, and it has never let us down.

We were in the area so googled pubs in the area found Jack Mytton reviews were great so we called in for lunch was not disappointed. Quaint canal side pub, Varied menu to suit all tastes. Friendly staff. Only downside the place could of beem warmer on a cold wet windy day. We will be back

A very nice Inn, near to the canal, we have had several meals here, and have never been disappointed. It is nicely located, and makes a pleasant change to come here for a nice meal and drink.

We were passing on a narrowboat contemplating a tuna mayo sandwich for lunch and we spotted the Jack Mytton. It is very cosy inside, extremely welcoming for customers and their dogs. A variety of Real Ales were served and the two I tried (no vigorous drink driving laws on the canal!) were spot on. We both had the beef in... More
