My Wife & I were spending a few days away and dropped in at the Jack Mytton Inn on the offchance of getting a table. Even though we had not booked, we were offered a table within no time as it was our first visit to the Jack Mytton and we had not booked ahead. The staff were superb as... More

We came here for a an impromptu meal on one of the rare occasions that we're not working and not with all the children. It was a saturday and I think that we were there in-between the lunch and evening rush, so it was all very quiet and it wasn't initially easy to tell if they were serving food at... More

My family took a canal barge holiday and we stopped at The Jack Mytton for a meal. The food was absolutely delicious, good healthy home cooking, imaginatively garnished. Despite the fact the portions were big, we all ate everything up! We enjoyed the meal so much that we stopped there again on the way back and had another really lovely... More

Came here on our 3rd night of our canal boat holiday. Great stop for canal holidays. Food was superb, best lamb I've ever had. Staff were really friendly and they had a nice selection of local ales. They had a nice outdoor seating area. Would have been good if the pub sold cigarettes as we had to walk 2 miles... More

Good service, nice home cooked food and reasonable prices. Visited Mad Jacks with my daughter and Granddaughter for an evening meal. It was very nice and was followed by brilliant locally sourced ice cream.

If you are on a narrow boat on the Llangollen canal, don't miss this pub. Very friendly staff, good food and nice atmosphere makes this a an excellent place to moor in the evening. When we entered and said we wanted to have dinner, we were told that there was a waiting time for about 30 mins, we didn't understand... More

We decided to call into the Jack Mytton for lunch and a pint. However they stop taking orders at 14.30 and so decided to have a drink instead and come back in the evening. Our boat being moored at the bottom of the garden meant we did not have far to walk. My wife and I only drink draught Guinness... More

You have to know where this is, just off the road from Whittington to Ellesmere. First impressions leave you feeling slightly unease but the food was good and reasonably prices off the bar menu. They should do more with the garden which would improve the outside eating experience no end.

Visited when passing as part of a canal boat holiday on the Llangollen canal. So good, again we visited twice, the pub is full of character, bustling with locals and holiday makers which blended well together. It has a charming restaurant attached, meals on offer were plentiful and varied, with 'deals' for two or three courses in some cases. Staff... More

Great quality food and real ale, lovely location next to the canal Bar area is too small so don't eat in there or you'll have people queueing for drinks standing over you as you eat!
