Having recently moved to the area we thought we would try the top ranked restaurant in the town. The food was ok but nothing better than that and the restaurant is nothing more than a bit out the back with little character. I think we just kept comparing it to the talbot down the rd that we had eaten at... More

Popped in for a quick lunch. Staff really friendly and efficient. It was really busy - always seems to be, everytime we walk past so that tells you something. I only had a jacket potato so hard to get that wrong but people do! This was lovely, full of filling and fresh salad. Partners faggots were homemade and tasty. All... More

The George and Dragon has a youthful and not too polished team who put in an honest shift to do justice to local food traditions. The offer benefits from a quaint town and old style pub which adds to the positive mood. Shropshire Blue and walnut pâté is interesting, fidget pie doesn't actually come in a pie but tastes great.... We were a party of 10 and ate in the restaurant area. The food was excellent, a very high standard for “pub” food. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the beer was well kept (I’ve never had a duff pint in the George & Dragon). This is about as good as it gets in a pub anywhere!

We noticed that this pub/restaurant had a Highly Recommended, Trip Advisor sticker in the window. We thought it would be fine to eat. Tripping over " local lads" with dogs, in the Bar area. Through to the restaurant, which was pretty basic. Old oak tables and chairs. In need of a refurb but a few quaint features. Decided to go... More

The food looked like it had been sitting around for ages and tasted as if it had . Limited unimaginative menu. Don't bother try somewhere else.

This is one of several old pubs in the centre of Much Wenlock, a pretty, historic Shropshire town with an impresive ruined abbey. It serves good quality, home cooked food, averaging about £10 for the main dish. Friendly service.

Having gorged-out on the tasting feast at the nearby Raven Hotel the night before, we wanted a fairly simple, light dinner so called in to the George and Dragon. We chose a beef and ale pie, and a scampi. Both should have come with chips and veg, but as we did not want much, we asked for just a single... More

Traditional pub with simple food. Set right in centre of town. Four of us had quick evening meal on Saturday night prior to the open air theatre production in grounds of church just across the street. Staff were friendly, there was usual choice of food which was served promptly. The price was very reasonable. If you looking for original public... More

We have been to the George and Dragon several times. The bar on the main street of this very attractive small Shropshire town has a great atmosphere. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, the food is of very good quality, served quickly and at reasonable prices. Definitely recommended for a meal.
