Walked in and it is a small atmospheric pub, taken through to a back room for lunch (booking advised.) and a good lunch menu available. The 2 baguettes and 1 sandwich were good value and the carved ham delicious. A group of locals were playing music and singing in the front bar which only added to the lovely buzzy atmosphere.... The pub had a nice atmosphere and well kept ales but the food was poor. The salmon in white wine, herbs and garlic was moist but lacked flavour and had no sauce; the jacket potato served with it was clearly a chilled, reheated one - hard, grainy and very dry rather than soft and fluffy as it should have been;... passing by this pub on a trip to Much Wenlock and were tempted to pop in for food. However it looked busy so we dithered, especially as we had the dog with us. Landlady spotted us through the door and came out to say that a table would be free in a couple of minutes. So glad she did. It... More

Great company, good beer, great food...what more do you need from a British Pub. The excellent rapport with customers came over from the first step over the door until we left

We went to the George and Dragon for a late lunch. We ordered at the bar but sat in the restaurant by the fireplace. The woman behind the bar was very nice, and great at answering questions about the menu. We ordered a ham & cheese sandwich, potato & leek soup, fish & chips and something called Paddy Ryan's Faggots... More

This is a very nice village pub where the atmosphere is great. The staff brilliant and the food excellent. I can't wait to go back. Nice to see that some places still have the character of a proper pub.

Really enjoyed visiting for lunch and we were made to feel very welcome. Baguettes were excellent and great value for money and beer was spot on. Will definitely be back.

Called in one lunchtime with an old school friend - better half and I were on holiday, the school friend lives nearby. We had the dining room to ourselves, the tables in the bar area were full, and it was clean, tidy and well set out with plenty of room between tables. We had Scampi, salad and chips - our... More

Always a fantastic place to go and have a pint and some lovely food! The atmosphere is always brilliant with the staff always friendly and smiling! I highly recommend the live music every other Sunday, it brings the whole of Much Wenlock alive with a fantastic mix of locals and tourists. The number one place to go in Much Wenlock!
