We enjoyed a meal here on Pie and a Pint Tuesday. The pies were great - we tried a Steak and Ale and a Fish pie. The sweet potato chips were to die for! We also tried puddings and the apple and summer fruits crumble was equally as good as the pies. A busy little drinking pub which is quirky... More

I studied various pubs and other eateries in Much Wenlock through the Trip Advisor pages, including recommendations from friends, before planning a short walk in the area and it was one of the helpful photos published on the George and Dragon listing here which grabbed my attention - the chalkboard menu. What I definitely wasn't looking for was a pretentious... More

We had driven to Much Wenlock from the midlands for a day out and after visiting the Wenlock Priory, we had a walk into the town for lunch. This place was a great find. At the time we walked in, the barman said we were just in time for lunch orders and took our order straight away with no issues.... More

Great to visit a traditional pub instead of one by a national chain. Very busy with locals (good sign!) and very friendly staff. Had a great lunchtime snack in a good old pub atmosphere!

We ate in the pub a couple of evening while staying locally. Firstly service was prompt and friendly. The menu is extensive with specials on offer. The prices are good value as are the meal sizes. Our meals arrived hot and quickly. The lasagne was tasty and scampi nicely cooked. We would recommend the pub for a meal, it was... More

Visited for Sunday lunch and enjoyed the food but the meal was spoiled by the cheap cutlery provided. Holding the knife and fork was positively painful as the ends of both knife and fork were sharp and dug into the palms. On the other hand the knife blades were not sharp and it was with difficulty that we managed to cut... Always good food and attentive service with good ale! We regularly visit on our food buying trips. The bar at the front of the pub has a fire in winter and an open door in summer.
