Excellent Pub

Always good food and attentive service with good ale! We regularly visit on our food buying trips. The bar at the front of the pub has a fire in winter and an open door in summer.

The staff at the George and Dragon Inn are friendly and welcoming. Dogs are allowed in the bar, which is great for us with our pooch, so we regularly eat there for lunch. The meat is from Much Wenlock's first-class butcher, Paddy Ryan, and there is an excellent selection of well-kept ales.

We visited the George and Dragon on Wednesday 24th June 2015 , we found a clean and tidy pub with friendly and helpful staff . While there we sat outside enjoying the sunshine and a ploughmans lunch that we had ordered , once again good efficient service with food that was well presented and well worth the value . When... First called in here 8 years ago back twice in 2015 and it has not changed, thank goodness for that!! A great pub, atmosphere, beer and food very good. A bit spoilt by too many dogs in the early evening, especially when eating. Blame the owners for their inconsideration, especially for taking three dogs in at once. This must be the... More

Visited for Sunday lunch, the garlic mushrooms were very poor and tasted like there were not the freshest when used. The roast beef and Turkey we had was tasty. The lemon meringue was ok shop bought.

We checked in to the Fox Inn around mid day 12th May, and we're told that their resaurant is open for evening meals only. The young lady at check in recommended the George, so we tried it and were very impressed with the quality and quantity of the food.

The G & D is Tardis-like as its main entrance opens into a quite small Public Bar. However, by taking a few steps alomg the corridor leading off behind the bar, much more comfy seating is revealed which accommodated easily a party of seven of us at the Wenlock Poetry Festival at the end of April. The drink and pleasantness... More

I read the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to try it out. The beer was great - a choice of 4 hand pumps with two regular and two guest ales. The food was excellent. I had the locally sourced Shropshire Fidget Pie and my friend chose from the wide choice of vegetarian options. The pastry on the open pie was... More

I had a dream last night that the George and Dragon had been pulled down and a modern building had replaced it. It was such a shock that I had to log on to trip advisior and make sure this was just a bad dream The 'George' was my family home when i was a young boy and filled with... More
