Mmmm. Lamb shanks!

I taken a group of US visitors here several times now and it's been enjoyable on each occasion. Food is good quality with generous portions. The beer selection is usually good. It's a lovely venue and the only complaint might be that the staff never give the impression of really knowing what their... read more

Had dinner here with my partner one Saturday. Pub was very quiet. My partner had a baked potato that was cold with cheese which was processed out of a packet and not melted on top, beans were stone cold. I had Burger and chips, chips were cold tasted of old Scampi due to friers not been clean. Burger was not... More

We've visited the lamb for over 20 years, and never has the food been so poor, it's like they have stopped trying! Chilli and chips - 9.95 frozen chips and chilli from a cheap cash and carry tin. Such a shame as it was great now really poor standards and expensive for what it was

Went for a drink on a weekday evening. Stood at the bar for 5 minutes before anyone appeared. Chef came from kitchen and Said "what dya want?" We have been regular visitors to Wantage, usually every couple of months over the past 5 years. We have Sunday Lunch here every time - excellent menu, good selection on the pumps, friendly service, and the option to eat indoors or outdoors (weather permitting). Good value for money and always busy - speaks for itself really :-)

We used to eat at this restaurant/pub before they were flooded & allough the food wasn't great it was acceptable. We have now moved to Wantage and thought we would try it again. The food quality has gone south & prices gone north…….Atmosphere is non existent. Best avoided

The Lamb, Wantage's only remaining thatch building, has been substantially renovated and enlarged, with the main drinking and eating area now outside of the original building. Good selection of standard beers, food average, but economical. Good parking although be careful when leaving the car park on either foot or by car as Mill street can be busy and the entrance... Feels like its in the middle of a council estate. If you like sausage and chips and Saturday night tv you'll probably love it. If you like fresh pasta and BBC2 documentaries, probably best to give it a miss.
