Drove around surrounding villages on a lovely sunny day looking for a light lunch, made the right choice, very attractive surroundings ,it was a Monday lunch time and it was very quiet. Ordered a mix of Scotch Quail eggs, home-made pork pie ,triple cooked chips and a few other tasty home cooked dishes, all were delicious. Would love to return... More

The food at the Kingham Plough is very well executed and follows the trend for well sourced ingredients, imaginatively cooked. We both had the delectable duck liver parfait, one of the smoothest we've had, to start accompanied by delicious in-house toasted brioche and wonderful carrot marmalade. The bread, too, is made on site and even tempted my gluten intolerant husband... More

We were looking somewhere for lunch in the sun..a rare feature of our weather at the moment ! and came across this gem. It was only a small lunch of crispy cod fingers and a pork pie with their triple cooked chips; all of which we would have had again...if we had had the space ! The staff were very... More

Visiting the Cotswolds we were smothered with choice for our evening restaurants and The Kingham Plough was a superb choice - excellent attentive staff, truly gourmet creations at every course personally created by the Owner A remarkable experience which we will enjoy again when next in the area

They clearly are trying very hard and it is sometimes hit or miss, but mostly hit. We walked in expecting the usual local village pub and after this or that sous vide preparation followed by elderflower ice-cream we just sort of shrugged our shoulders and said "Who knew?". It's not cheap, but on the whole, definitely worth a visit. After... More

Emily Watkins, the owner and head chef, creates surprising dishes for a pub. The bar menu is excellent and well priced. The restaurant menu is generally of a high standard, albeit pretty unusual for a village pub. Worth looking at the menu online before booking.

We were staying in the village and ate there on two consecutive nights. This is not a place to go if you are actually hungry. The food is pimped up and priced up and totally unremarkable. On our second night we both chose skirt of beef steak. It was (a) cold (b) utterly tasteless and (c) £19 a portion. The... More

Went on the same day as the local organics show (and a previous negative review) and hadn't booked for lunch. They found us a table for four plus high chair which I was surprised at as the pub was quite full. Opted for the bar menu which was quite seasonally comprehensive and had sous vide burger topped with cheese in... More

Very disappointing visit to The Plough at Kingham. Previously we have enjoyed excellent food and service to a very high standard but on this occasion we felt somewhat disappointed. The Pub was cool which is undoubtedly due to the cold Spring we are having so normally you would not expect to have heating on. The menu seemed very limited on... More

I am very rarely disappointment with food, however, this was one of the few occasions. The service was poor: After waiting for 15 minutes being seated we went to the bar to order food, only to be sent back to the table to wait another 1 minutes. The staff had a "whatever" attitude to our complaints. The food was poor:... More
