It's just a shame they're directly by the busy road, otherwise I'd go there much more often. Shame I can't take my dog inside. Very sad about that. Again - I'd come much more often if I could. Food and drinks are all fantastic - first class quality and very friendly boss and staff. Very happy they now offer unsweetened... More

What a great place! I drive by it several times a day and it's always busy. Having a spare half hour we paid it a visit! Amazing! Food superb, service fantastic, quaint place and very friendly, a local place to catch up with friends, will definitely re-visit for a breakfast again.

My 3 year old son and I had lunch in here today, and what a lovely find it was. The order was taken accurately and with a smile, and it arrived very quickly. The food was good, made with a traditonal flair. Even though my son was not the quietest of patrons, there was not a single eyebrow raised as... More

I have visited this café several times, often for meetings. It is not particularly my taste in décor but is functional. There is not a lot of room and can get quite crowded. The toilets are also down a flight of stairs and not very uplifting - in fact quite dingy and next to a storage room. The food is... More

A lovely cafe with lovely cakes. The cafe could do with a good clean, the walls in places are splashed with drinks, and the carpet on staircase down to the toilets is filthy.

Hi, GaryP208. Thanks for your comments. I agree with you on the decor and carpet to the loo. I recently took over ownership and in fact, this week we are starting the process of changing the carpet, decorating the inside of the cafe and generally improving the customer experience. Hope you come back soon and see it all happening. More

I usually go to Costa when I have errands to run in Abingdon but fancied something different and popped in here with my three year old son a few weeks ago. I was so pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches and cakes are lovely and the place is very cosy with a relaxing atmosphere. Best of all, the staff were so lovely... More

I went into throwing buns to get a snack and it cost me £8.00 for a coffee and a bite to eat. Not a meal, but a quick heated sarnie. Too expensive in my view.

Really don't get why people go to Costa when you can go somewhere like Throwing Buns, freshly made food, and a good choice of drinks. Quirky decor with a local feel, pleasant and quick service. I try and pop in here every couple of weeks and it never disappoints.

Took one bite of my croissant and left the rest, it must have been 3 days old at least. They didn't warm it up, provide cutlery or napkin or any condiments, just a stale croissant dumped on a plate. Tea was fine but the service was super slow and staff had to be chased for sugar. Go anywhere else.

Hi, Ariel. Thanks for your feedback. Firstly, allow me to apologise for your experience. It is not usual for us to offer poor service and for that, I apologise. However, I have to correct your assertion that the croissant was stale. They are made daily, by a master baker in the town and bought each morning, as we sell out... More
