Had Saturday lunch with a friend and decided on a pub lunch... We were really surprised with the type of food that they cooked as it looked like a bit of a 'local pub'. We went with the hot rocks meal for two where you can choose 4 types of exotic meats and they give a wealth of choice. The... More

Arrived banners and balloons up and a spacious table for 10. We all ate together, no complaints on food. Cake came out without us asking. All in all a GRADUATION to remember.... More

I have eaten here several times over the years when visiting family in the area and the food has always been very good. This last visit was no exception. 6 of us had lunch and everybody enjoyed their meal. The service was, as usual, quick, friendly and efficient and the prices are reasonable. They accept reservations and it's always a... More

Great food, cooked to perfection. Great choice on the menu, friendly staff. One of the best pubs in the area. If your in the area, take time out to visit this one.

Went with friends on bank holiday Monday. The restaurant part of the pub looks like it's seen better days with dated tables and chairs and just feels a bit lacking in atmosphere. You have to walk through the pub to get to the restaurant, I'd class it as a locals pub. The pub is popular for its exotic meat selection... More

As this was just walking distance from my B&B I ate here on my first night, I would highly recommend this pub but please book a table as I turned up and the place was fall, the staff managed to find me a spot in the bar to eat, my food came quickly and was excellent.

Great food. Fantastic (and very wide and varied) choice of food. Brilliant service. We will be back when we're down next.

I've heard a lot of good reviews about this pub so decided to try it out. Went with my husband on a busy night over Christmas and was very impressed. All the staff were friendly and helpful - food was served hot and promptly. Decided to take the whole family on a Sunday afternoon just after Christmas and was still... More

Although I live nearby I never visited this pub before but been there yesterday for dinner with a group of friends and I was pleasantly surprised. Food arrived after 10-15 mins of waiting. I just had an appetizer as not very hungry, and I have to admit it was delicious and very nice presented. I would definitely go again.

Neighborhoods setting, walking distance from my B&B, Rowen Guest House. Food, exceptionally good, piping hot, lots of veggies and what I believe to be real mashed potatoes. Too much on my Lamb shank meal to finish. Cold, cold brew. All for £18. Efficient servers well paced service. Great menu selections. Toasty and warm the way a Pub should be.
