the food was lovely, the atmosphere friendly and easy - it was the perfect spot for our wining and dining while on our hideaway weekend at Fenton Hill Farm Cottages

2/03/14 It was my husbands birthday and the family went to Red Lion for Carvery lunch. There was 10 of us, booked beginning of week. Upon arrival, pub busy, we saw our table because it was set out for 10. Nobody spoke to us, we sat down, the barman ignored us, we sat for a while when the waitress asked... More

Just been for a wonderful meal out, fantastic food and friendly people. Took 3 children with us and had a good children's menu or could have smaller adult menu on selected meals if we wanted. Lovely, will definitely be going back and would recommend it to all! Thank you

Thought we would give the Red Lion a go which was a change from eating in Wooler. Recommended by our hosts at Millyard House so we booked a table. Seemed a little short staffed but it was a Monday evening and the place was quite busy. We did have to wait a while before being attended to but once seated... More

We visited Wooler and having read reviews as to where to eat thought we would drive a little further (only a few miles) for lunch. Glad we did as the pub was lovely. Me the wife and 13 yo and 6 yo. The menu was substantial and a good choice. The childrens menu was ok but the staff were happy... More

This Red Lion is at Millfield, a few miles north of Wooler, not to be confused with the Red Lion Hotel (or Red Lion Inn) in Wooler. I have always found the food here to be excellent; fresh, home- cooked and delicious. They do several gluten free dishes and make a point of using separate oil to cook the GF... More

We'd read previous reviews on Tripadvisor, for the Red Lion, so decided we'd make that our destination of choice for food, in Wooler. The staff were lovely - really friendly, the pub was clean and well kept and the food was fresh and tasty; we really enjoyed our home-made burgers! We'll be back...

Staying south of Wooler, B&B hosts recommended this pub for evening meal. We booked a table and were glad we did as it was busy on a Wednesday night. Excellent food with a bit of a twist. Definitely not your average pub grub. We had starter and main course and sadly didn't have room for pud but managed to down... More

We visited the Red Lion upon the recommendation of our B&B hosts and we were not disappointed. The food is of a very high quality with local produce used. Despite the restaurant being busy (it is a good idea to pre-book although the staff will do their best to squeeze you in) the service was very efficient and the staff... More
