While spending a weekend in the Newcastle area for a family wedding my son and I decided to visit Morpeth for a couple of hours and were delighted to come across this tea room where we enjoyed a late brunch of scrambled eggs on toast with different additions as well as a generous pot of tea with their home made... Stopped off for a quick look around Morpeth on our way home from our hols and spotted this lovely little tea room, so glad we did. It's a traditional English tea room, the décor is very quaint. The staff are very pleasant. We had lunch here .... chose a variety of meals, quiche, corned beef pie, cheese on toast, all... More

Very traditional off the road cafe - lovely ambience and just what you'd hope to find! Great selection of scones, all served up with cream and a selection of preserves. Great variety on the menu for what is a relatively small cafe. Will definitely go again!!

Good British fare ! I have heard people in the street asking for a cafe and been sent elsewhere because it gets forgotten about as its tucked away , glad to see more signs pointing the way

Definately coming here again. Will bring my Surrey visitors soon. They'll be so envious. Prices are really reasonable. Good soft blues playing. Pleasant staff.

My husband & I have visited a wide variety of tea rooms over the years but this little gem is outstanding by far! Came about it by exploring little streets & alleyways. From entering the room with it's very tasteful/beautiful décor, atmosphere, excellent menu choice & very friendly staff you were made to feel quite at home. My husband had... More

We visit Morpeth at least twice a year and always come to the chantry for a bite to eat. It's a lovely atmosphere, there is good choice on the menu and the food is beautifully presented. It represents good value for your money and a very pleasant way to while away an hour.
