I first visited this place last year before it was took over. It was horrible then. Microwaved food. But I came here the other week and it was great. The old staff were rude and miserable. The new staff are lovely and helpful. The roast beef dinner I got was amazing. Amazing beef and home cooked Yorkshires and potatoes

We visited here for dinner on a Wednesday evening whilst staying nearby. The pub was busy and full of chatter and had a very positive atmosphere. The service was good and the food was nice; good pub food but very much on the large side! The Cajun chicken salad was very nice and the seasoning was just right and the... More

Been here quite a few times over the last year. What an improvement. Top marks to those who are pulling out all the stops to continually raise the bar. The menu and specials provide a good variety of pub grub with the occasional upmarket twist. The chef and team deserve credit for upping their game. Bar staff are friendly. Decor... More

Beer was fine, but only one hand pump working from a possible three! Scampi and chips was ok. However pulled pork, cheese and barbeque sauce French stick roll, was awfull, possibly good to someone, but greasy, fatty and sickly sweet to me, maybe my anticipation was for something quite different. Sat outside on the picknic tables, just a little too... More

Called in today for a cuppa after cycling for 20 miles, ordered tea for two, what we got was 2 cups and a tiny teapot with 1 teabag in, half a cup each for the pricely sum of very nearly 4 pounds!! We weren't impressed at all, I did bring it to the waitresses attention and she brought us another... More
