Heard mostly good feedback about the revitalised Northumberland Arms and booked with friends on a busy Saturday night hoping for a treat. It was busy, but staff were attentive and welcoming and we had only a short wait before our booked table was free. It was very noisy, thanks to the hard surface decor, but we had a disappointing meal... More

We were residents for two nights in North Moor Tower. The room was spotless and I mean spotless - some high end hotels could learn a thing or two. Not a speck of anything anywhere. The tea tray was bliss. 4 choices of leaf tea and I've discovered a new favourite. The bed was divine. Huge and comfortable with the... More

Recommended by a few friends, so we booked for Sunday lunch. On arrival, the restaurant/pub is well decorated. Welcomed by very friendly staff who throughout were very attentive. The food was excellent, well present, good sized portions and very tasty. We will be back soon!

Visited with friends for Sunday lunch. Fell in love with the decor, modern but homely & cosy. Good choice on the menu, all 3 courses were delicious, & enjoyed the wine. Service was good but not great. I appreciate being asked how my meal was rather than just if I am finished. Place was heaving by the time we left... More

Booked 3 weeks in advance for a special 40th birthday Sunday dinner. It was worth it. Food was lovely and hot. We all had Sunday roasts choosing from beef, lamb, turkey and pork and we had one chicken strips for a child. Portions were very generous including child's meal. Lovely desserts too, would recommend the cheeseboard!! A lovely special meal... More
