Had dinner here twice over 4 day period, once in bar and other in restaurant. Both occasions food was really good and good value. Service excellent Each time. Advised to book for Thurs to Sun, for the restaurant as it gets busy.

Just had a really tasty, well presented, politely served Sunday lunch. Shown to our table in the restaurant very swiftly, my husband chose the brisket of beef and I opted for the seafood chowder, both plentiful, piping hot and delicious. I tend not to have dessert at lunch time but couldn't resist the brownie sundae...scrumptious!

We had a Christening here, a Birthday party and have been back several times for a night out (without the kids). The menu and quality of food is excellent and they always have nice house wines on. The staff are welcoming and friendly, but not overbearing. Lovely setting, made even better with the addition of the conservatory.

We stayed in Thirston and Eshott Castle rooms both of which are dog friendly. Lovely spacious luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms. Huge ultra comfortable beds. Staff were friendly and welcoming without being over effusive. Breakfast and 2 evening meals were all very, very good, plenty of choice, top notch quality food cooked to perfection. Possibly the best lamb chops I have... More

We thought to treat ourselves and gave them a call to see if there was an available table. We got the last table in the conservatory and arrived at this busy little restaurant. The staff were very pleasant and we had a gorgeous 3 three course dinner. The rack of lamb was succulent and perfectly cooked and overall we left... More

We booked at this very busy pub restaurant whilst staying locally and were very happy that they fitted us in last minute on a very busy Sunday evening, we were seated in the superb bar dining area and waited quite a while for our drinks and order of Sunday lunch to be taken but we accept they were busy. When... More

Friday evening, great food but can we please have plates not those silly 'roof tiles' to eat off? Attentive young waiters and waitresses though a lot of loitering around!

Met some friends for dinner, I am vegetarian and was offered Crab. After explaining that crab is not a vegetable the young (very attractive) lady left to see chef. She returned and offered a vegetable Wellington which was delicious. One of our party said that vegetarians could eat fish, I strongly disagree. If you eat fish you cannot call yourself... More

Dear Guest Thank you for your review; the vegetarian/non vegetarian debate prevails!!. I am sure our very attractive waitress was just trying to offer you an alternative to a meat dish. Glad that overall you all enjoyed your meal and we sincerely hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Vanessa F Guest Relations More
