Holy Island can get very busy at times, and this is a good place to stop when going to or from the Island. It can get very busy, but service times remained good. The food was average but unexciting.

Visited here after advice from a family member. We had a lovely dinner on a Saturday night. We were greeted warmly on arrival to an already busy restaurant and immediately shown to our table which had a fantastic view out to lindisfarne. The specials were explained to us and we were left to make our choices. We both started with... More

We needed a pit stop on the way to Lindisfarne.....had to turn round (no joke in a 7.5mtr motorhome) as the tide was not right and parked up in the Barn at Beal facing the sea on a beautiful Friday morning. A couple of well prepared cappochinos and a difficult choice of decadent tray bakes and we sat at the... More

We went here on the advice of a friend having visited Lindisfarne. We asked if they did cream teas and were told they did scone, jam, and cream but not a full cream tea. We settled on this and at first were told they didn't have any fruit scones left (it was very late afternoon when we arrived) and we... More

My son and I decided to have lunch at The Barn at Beal. We were met by delightful ladies as we entered who showed us the menu and board and left us to get comfortable at our table. We both had a filled jacket potato, mine with crayfish, and I could have eaten it all again, as delicious. My son... More

Took our visitors to the Barn for Saturday evening meal, and were given a table with a view over Lindisfarne as requested at the time of booking. That was great as it was a lovely evening and our guests were amazed at the scenery. The atmosphere in the restaurant was ideal, and he service was fine. We all enjoyed our... More

We have dinned on many occasions and enjoyed...Today we went and noticed the tables were all uncleared and the regular helpful staff were not on...We were treated by a waitress and explained I had been unwell and could only manage something light like an omelette....my husband however would behaving a normal hearty meal.... The waitress asked the chef who apparently... More

We visited for lunch on a rainy Sunday. We did have a bit of a wait but the restaurant was very busy and I think there was a staff shortage. However our Roast Pork was very good, staff were helpful and pleasant and the prices very reasonable.

We had Sunday lunch here and although a busy holiday weekend we were served quickly. The portions were large and all of the food was fresh and lovely. Lots of seafood. We phoned and booked 30 minutes in advance and this proved to be wise as the bistro was very busy as this was the weekend before all the schools... More
