So close to Holy Island

An ideal spot for a light meal on the way to or from Holy Island. Beautiful views of Holy Island and not far off the Northumbrian coast road. Excellent cakes. There was also a selection of attractive gifts and pictures on sale.

Having cycled along the Lindisfarne causeway in the most horrendous driving rain, the Barn was a very welcome find. Part of a modern holiday set up with tents motor homes and cottages? The coffee shop is really well presented with plenty of seating including some really comfy settees. Pots not cups of tea and a reasonable selection of light meals... More

We took a trip out the o the Barn at Beal for afternoon tea / coffee. The restaurant is perfectly located overlooking Holy Island. The views are fantastic. The cakes were excellent, and I can highly recommend the Border Tart; the date and apple slices were excellent too. Although we didn't take luncheon at the restaurant, the menu did look... More

The dining area was very pleasant with waiter service being good. The menu was attractive with some unusual choices. My wife and I chose a Seafood plater which was excellent.

After visiting Holy Island we stopped for coffee but finished up with lunch and a beer! We had to order at the counter but then we were served delicious food and even nicer cake! Lovely warm sunny day made it a pleasurable experience.

I would highly recommend this restaurant and gift shop. The food is really good. They do serve beer as well as coffee. The place is very popular and there's a reason for that.

Myself and my girlfriend camped here for one night while walking the northumberland coastal path. The camping pitches are comfortable and you get an unbroken view of Holy Island. Shower and toilet facilities were clean however with only one toilet / shower room for men and one for women, things can get busy quickly - annoying if you just need... More

We had been to Holy Island and decided to stop off at The Barn at Beal for lunch and we weren't disappointed we both had quiche with salad and it was really tasty and would recommend this. There was a good choice on the menu. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good value.

We'd read good reviews of the Barn so rather than eat lunch on Holy Island, we stopped here. We were so pleased that we did. This is a very clean, pleasant place with very friendly waitresses and delicious locally sourced food. Their crayfish and prawn salad was really lovely, and they serve a good variety of food. We were really... More

All the cafe's were so busy on Holy Island so we stopped here en route home. Lovely views and plenty of outside seating. Lovely coffee. We didn't sample the food but the cakes looked delicious and the lady who served us said they were all home made. The food that was coming out from the kitchen all looked very appetising.... More
