Great views

Stopped off for Sunday lunch/dinner at 3 but a few things off the menu so only stayed for a drink and admired the great views. If I'm in the area again I would return a little earlier on a Sunday or try another day.

This cafe has wonderful views over Holy Island and tends to be our favourite eatery either before or after visting the Island depending on the tide. The food although slightly on the expensive side, is always fresh and tasty. It can be very busy but is worth the wait. Other attractions are on site.

A gem of place. We booked for dinner during a lunchtime visit for afternoon drinks on the terrace. The views are of Lindisfarne Island and are fabulous. The service was fantastic - each member of staff was courteous and very helpful, nothing being too much trouble for them. The ambiance was good too during the evening. Food was great and... More

We had an excellent lunch with our group which was promptly served, so we could go across the causeway to Lindisfarne. Very good ploughman's and lovely home made cakes. Can sit outside weather permitting and see across to Lindisfarne.

We had a great lunch - great service, lots of food to choose from & what we had was tasty. The view is brilliant too. Also some good artwork to buy & a nice gift shop. We'll be back for sure

Almost £12 for a glass of flat lemonade, cup of tea, bowl of tomato soup and a tuna sandwich on stale bread. Have had much better food elsewhere in the area. However this is a handy place to park while going out for a walk down to the causeway and onto the island

I was disappointed to read your review. I really genuinely don't feel that our food is overpriced. Our food is freshly made to order and I think that for what you had, nearly £12 is a reasonable price to pay. It's a shame that you say the bread was stale as it is freshly delivered daily. Perhaps you should have... More

We had a meal here which was lovely, would highly recommend a visit. It's got a lovely large seating area and seats outside with a fab view. Caters for dogs and disable people

We look on having lunch at the Barn at Beal as part of our annual trip to Holy Island and it doesn't disappoint. Good food, service and views. The restaurant is nice and clean and I am pleased to see the new Bothy Bar. The menu has something for everyone and is good value for nice food. I loved the... More

We camped here for two nights at the end of walking the St Cuthbert's Way. The location was perfect, just a short walk via a cycle track to the Causeway to Holy Island which meant we could leave our gear while we spent a day on the Island. The campsite was quiet and secluded. The only minor inconvenience was that... More

A delightful experience - an excellent Sunday lunch; efficient, couteous service; and clean, bright, modern surroundings, with an outlook towards Lindisfarne and a fascinating feature of a large screen showing The Causeway, and the current state of the tide. This encouraged us, after a lovely meal, to go down to see for ourselves the vista of the road covered by... More
