great place for a snack!

We went for a quick lunch, and it was really great! The salad on the side (which in so many places is a few green leaves and a bit of tomato and cucumber) was a proper and delicious salad - almost a meal in itself! The service was friendly and quick, the coffee was excellent, the cakes very good!

Had evening meal in this busy, friendly and efficient cafe. Portions were large and inexpensive. However, neither the fish or the chips were exceptional - just good, average chippy standardIthink that we are conditioned these days to really high quality pub fish and chips, so that our expectations are high. Nothing to complain about here, and it was a reasonably... More

We called into this fish restaurant around 12.45 whilst on a visit to Alnwick. It was pretty busy with customers having sit in meals as well as a steady stream wanting take away food. I took this as a good sign so in we went. The menu was varied but we both opted for Cod & Chips, bread & butter... More

Our group had booked the upstairs room at the cafe, where we had excellent traditional fish and chips served with bread and butter and hot drinks.

Staff were very friendly. Meal was most enjoyable, ample portions and lovely white fish. Scraps were an added bonus!

Lemon sole, chips mushy peas, bread and butter and pot of tea. Fish was fresh and tasty, batter was crispy and not at all greasy and fell off the fish. Chips were great. Service was superb. Very reasonable prices. I would go back to Alnwick again simply to visit this wonderful fish and chip restaurant.

Went at 9 pm on a Saturday night, Not nice at all, lot of chips were green and black. I prefer a decent size chip but majority of these were ' bits of chip's Had a portion of curry sauce - avoid at all costs, it had to be spooned out of the tub it was that thick

We had an evening meal in the restaurant. The portions are pretty big and the Cod was very nice. Quite a selection on the menu and there was seating upstairs, so if it seems full on the ground floor there may be space upstairs. The prices are also very reasonable, so if you are a visitor to the town give... More

On the last day of our holiday, we decided to have a family fish and chips! Carlos came up on Trip Advisor so we gave it a go. Definitely a very good idea. The food was beautifully freshly cooked. This fish was tender and sweet and huge. The sausages for the kids were really good and there were tons of... More

We stopped off here after a day at Alnwick Castle and found the fish to be excellent. Chips were a little hit & miss as there were lots of black and green bits in them but we perhaps called at the wrong time. That said, the prices can't be faulted - it cost us under £50 for 6 lots of... More
