Myself and my partner stayed at The Joiners Arms a few days ago and we loved the whole experience, the room was amazing (Silver Beach), the staff were lovely, polite and very helpful and the food was outstanding, the Chowder certainly lived up to its reputation. The room was sumptuous and the view from the Juliet balcony was lovely, open... More

Just back from The joiners Arms on a miserable foggy wet weekend, but the entire stay was perfect from room, food, and staff, myself and hubby couldnt think of anywhere better too have spent our Anniversary. Stayed in Bill Bags Cape room which was fab, dark and luxurious with waiting strawberries & Prosecco on ice. We decided to stay in... More

We had Sunday lunch which was our best ever followed by Dinner on Monday which was outstanding. Great staff, food to die for . We will return again and again. Shame about parking problems and the real ale choice could have been broader. Having said that....just go there.

We stayed locally for seven days and discovered this pub on the third day we then returned another twice finally for Sunday lunch which was perfect. The food and service on each occasion was excellent. The local ales were perfectly kept and served with good advice from the two barmen. All the staff were friendly and made us very welcome. We can't... More

Went here for Sunday lunch after rave reviews from friends. Didn't live up to the hype. Bar area far too hot (what's with the giant spotlights beaming down on your head?!?!) . Food not great, beef chewy, fatty and full of gristle, left a lot of it on the plate as it was inedible. Maybe we picked a bad day... More

Been to the Joiners a few time previously and always had good food. This visit saw a new choice on the menu, and the Piri Piri Beercan Chicken was awesome. Tasty, spicy and big enough for Two people. A great range of drinks and excellent service makes the Joiners a must !

Have been to this pub/restaurant lots of times in the past and felt that menu was becoming boring and food not up to expected standard. After visiting twice recently the menu has been updated. The quality of the food was very good, presentation and taste very much improved. I would definitely recommend The Joiner's as a place to eat and... More

Visited by accident on the Tuesday and just had to return on the Friday too. The fish and chips were the best I've ever had. A few good choices of well kept ales too.

Despite the popularity of Northumberland as a tourist destination, it’s not always as easy as you might think to find somewhere decent to eat. Some places are overrated, some don’t seem to care over much about ‘here today, gone tomorrow’ trade. Every now and then, though, you find somewhere that ticks the boxes. The Joiners’ Arms is in Newton-by-the Sea;... More
