We went for a meal during a family weekend away. The place looks good, nice and clean and the staff were very friendly. The fish and chips was excellent. But I have to say that the rest was not so good. I didn't want a massive meal so I opted for the paprika chicken. I was a bit shocked when... More

Passed this pub whilst en route to the beach to walk the dog and wondered if we should pop in for a pint on the way back. Great atmosphere and dogs very very welcome. Had a lovely meal of fish and chips and my personal fave a fish finger baguette. Service was excellent, wine very nice, dog made very welcome...

Walked from Dunstanburgh to the Joiners for coffee and booked for the evening meal. We both had the fish, chips and mushy peas. It was the most delicious piece of fish we can ever recall! So pleased though that we didn't have a starter first because we were very full!! Staff very welcoming and the service was excellent. We will... More

We had lunch here before going to a late afternoon wedding nearby. We got a lovely warm and friendly welcome. The staff were particularly lovely with our 2 year old granddaughter. The three adults had the fish and chips - sublime! The batter was so crisp and the fish cooked to perfection. Will definitely return if we are in the... More

We were cycling up the Coastal & Castles route so fortunately had healthy appetites. They could only squeeze us in before 7 pm as they were so busy. The fish & chips is huge but was absolutely delicious , the batter was crispy and light and the fish was flaky and moist. You could easily share one if you had... More

We happened upon this pub whilst exploring the coastline and went for cod & chips without even bothering to look at the menu. We have since discovered this is one of its flagship dishes and no wonder! The fish was enormous and in really good crispy batter. Well cooked and really tasty. The chips weren't quite so good - not... More

Had an early 6pm supper. Huge dining area with flagstones, wood beams, some leather chairs and benches. Very friendly welcome. Opted for the giant fish and chips. Lovely cod in crispy batter. Hers was huge, and I think mine was two fillets joined by the batter! Great beef dripping cooked chips - not what I would usually have but delicious!... More

We called in for a drink after being on the beach. We looked at the menu and decided to eat here. We asked if we could book a table and although the pub was quite busy we were squeezed in. Overall the food was very good and the atmosphere great. I will definitely be calling back here on my next... More

We found the place by chance (despite having walked from to Low Newtown along the coastline day before) and walked in at 7pm with no booking on a Monday and were promptly seated. Service was efficient despite place filling up and food wholesome and great flavours- mussels, lobster, hake. Parking could be an issue as space outside is limited and... More
