Slightly above a generic gastro-pub

We stopped in on a Tuesday evening for a meal, and were shown to a table no problem. (We hadnt booked) We chose to go straight for mains - I had the Mussels cooked in Garlic Sauce, and my Better Half chose the Beef Burger. Wow, the portions are generous! Mmm, the mussels were delicious. Soo... read more

I'm not sure if The Joiners is a pub or a restaurant, it certainly looks and feels like a pub but when you enter you can see that there is a large restaurant behind the bar. There is a great range of real ales, if you ask the waiters to recommend a beer they will do so willingly. The pint I... More

We went here the night before my wedding, and for the wedding day taster menu and the food is beautiful. Talking about going back here for our 1 year anniversary meal!

We visited on the extremely busy Easter weekend. We booked in advance (they were turning people away who hadn't). This is the heart of rural Northumberland - wonderful views and enticing walks though eateries are few and far between. Service was good but challenged a bit by the volume of diners. Traditional fayre well presented - we plumped for pork... More

Don't visit here unless you are really hungry and can manage a giant portion of food. The menu is varied and the selection of fish is particularly good. The tempura prawn starter is crispy and yummy. The fish and chips is more 'whale and chips' and made with fresh and tasty local fish. We couldn't manage a pudding but I... More

Very popular gastro pub and food was very good. Evening slightly let down by unforeseen staff shortage, which led to some confusion around service and uncleared plates. Manager and staff who were there were very good, though, and did their best.

Delicious food!! Came here on the off chance after a long walk on Easter Saturday. We did not think that we would get a table but they managed to get a space for us. I would definitely recommend this place for foods and drinks. Well worth it.

We visited for lunch as we had great food there last year. The food, surroundings, staff and location are excellent. The battered fish and chips along with the bartered prawn starter are especially recommended. On the whole a great well priced meal washed down with some nice real ale. (I am a CAMRA member)

Looking for some where for lunch and having been unable to park in Alnwick we came by chance upon the Joiners Arms. Went in and staff very welcoming and even though there was a moderate size party already there a table was found for us. Drink order taken and menus provided. Although staff were busy our order was taken quite... More
