Best tea experience for miles

If you like tea, and I mean you are seriously in to good tea, then when in Alnwick (pronounced Annick for those poor souls who are dialectically challenged) visit the Bari tea shop. The Bari Tea Brewery is THE place in Alnwick for a pot of tea. A huge range of teas to choose from, and Caroline will also provide coffee if your companions are not tea drinkers. The scones are the best I have ever had and there are always delicious cakes to tempt you. I particularly like soup and a cheese... More

We called in with friends for afternoon tea. The selection of teas is amazing and cakes and scones delicious, coffee also on offer. The staff were lovely, very attentive and we had a bit of fun with them.

Very welcoming, found a seat for two by moving a pot plant on left of shop, several customers had to be turned away when all they had to do was move the rather over the top table display on the left side. But still we had a nice quiet cuppa! And the tea is very good and served precisely, with... More

The aroma of freshly baked scones as we walked through the door was amazing so of course we had to try some - cheese and mustard scones warm from the oven, delicious. There was a good choice of teas and the waitress was happy to explain and describe them to us. A word of warning to coffee lovers, this is... More

The worst thing about this cafe was trying to decide which tea to have! I don't think that you can make just one visit. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere relaxed what more could one want?

Lovely visit to Bari Tea rooms. Received a very warm welcome and help with choosing some of the delicious teas on offer. Scrummy cakes too! Well worth a visit if you want to experience something different and enjoy good customer service and delicious teas.

I absolutely love having Afternoon Tea whenever I go away. Now I'm very happy to find an excellent place, closer to Newcastle. The staff were very friendly and offered service with a smile. I enjoyed the Earl Grey, a selection of real loose tea and the scones were all delicious. This is a special treat. If you find yourself in... More

Popped in for a cup of tea and a cake before a 6 hour drive home from Alnwick and we were delighted with our choice. A warm and friendly welcome, relaxed but attentive service, witty menu, great tea and some of the most wonderful cakes gives Bari Tea a simply unbeatable package.

What a refreshing change to find somewhere that is not obsessed with coffee. An excellent range of real teas and it seems being brewed with care and at the right temperature (very important with green tea) Went in just before closing time but was welcomed and had a wonderful 'Oolong Mystery' a real treat. Get out of Costa lot Starbucks... More
