We have just returned from a three night stay at the nearby Aln House B&B and ate at the Oakes Hotel every night. The menu is reasonably priced and varied enough for everyone to find something they like, I can particularly recommend the craster stew. Food was very good, great menu and specials. Only let down was waiting staff could so with a bit more training on what wines were available, but we got there in the end. Would return without hesitation

Good food at a great price especially if your in time for the carvery, before 7pm.

We called in on the evening of our arrival in Alnwick and were pleasantly surprise how nice a resturant it was. Made to feel very welcome and the food was fantastic.

We just popped in for a quick bite to eat and ended up being sooo tempted by the menu, we had three courses. The potion size is astounding but justifies the slightly higher than average price (TOTALLY WORTH IT THOUGH).
