We arrived at tea time on a Saturday and had a short wait for a table. Service was pretty good and the food was classic italian mix of dishes, with a twist - some good twists and some unusual ones. Excellent Whitebait. Pizzas were pretrty good, though the parsnips and carrots in my folded pizza were an unwelcome surprise. Overall,... More

Even better in my opinion than its sister restaurant Il Sopra. Smaller, with a slightly different choice, but still the same excellent quality and value.

Was staying Wednesday night in Alnwick and was recommended to come here by the B and B. Turned up at 5 to nine which was just as well as they stop serving at 9! Nevertheless they said they could fit me in. Sea Bass was all gone, so waiter suggested pepperoni pizza which as excellent. Accompanied it with a nice... More

We dropped in here early on a Thursday evening expecting to be told they were fully booked but were lucky they had a table free. Some diners who were on the next table to ours we're getting ready to leave & gave a fantastic review of their meal. The staff although quite young we're very attentive, helpful & considerate with... Cafe Tirreno is well situated on the main street near to Alnwick town centre. It gets very busy and you may well have to wait for a table especially on weekend evenings and in the tourist season. It serves Italian style dishes which in our experience are OK but we have had better elsewhere. Pizzas are large and reasonably well... More

Ate here early evening mid-week, busy with quite a few people waiting.....all tourists. Got the last remaining table for 2 but then waited over 10 minutes to order drinks - seems 7-8pm is their busy time as it emptied out by 8.30pm. Nice polite young staff but somewhat inexperienced serving at table. Portions were large - our pizzas were hot... More

Had to wait for a table as they do not take bookings. Well worth the wait as the food was freshly prepared and very tasty. Good value and the house wine is reasonably priced. Service is excellent from a young enthusiastic team.

An Italian style restaurant, comparatively small but the menu, food, service and prices are all excellent. If you are in Alnwick, then this is definitively one of the top places to eat. Very Highly recommended but do book or get there early if you want a table.

Saturday night and hadn't booked but it was only a short wait to be seated. The restaurant was very busy but we ordered and the food arrived quickly. It was basic and hearty and reasonable value for money. By 9pm the place had emptied which detracted from the atmosphere but we would return.

We ate here when in holiday, very busy but service was excellent, food very good and good bottle of house wine. Would certainly eat here again.
