the food was good although the menu wasn't very extensive - the restaurant is actually better than average but not 4 stars so 3.5 is more accurate

called in for the two courses for £10 offer, we both had Haddock, Chips and peas, followed by white Chocolate cheese cake. All extremely tasty and well presented. Lovely surroundings, topped off by excellent service from very friendly staff, thank you.

as others have said pretty quiet when we visited and this meant there was no real atmosphere. The staff were friendly and given that it was so quiet took a little while for service. However the starters were good and the main courses pork tenderloin in red wine ,and baked cod in a white wine veloute were both excellent .The food brought... Sunday lunch. Four diners. £18.95 for three courses and a complimentary glass of bubbly. Beautiful dining room. In need of a lot of TLC. Pleasant waitress. Very basic food. Nothing to write home about. No wonder it was quiet.

We went on a Sunday evening and whilst our meal was okay it is more than can be said for the people around us, three tables had to send at least one meal back, one was the wrong meal, one was under cooked and the other had ingredients missing. Poor standard for what was not a cheap meal

Not a large Bistro within White Swan hotel in Alnwick. Fairly straight forward British based menu, all freshly prepared. Good quality. Very good friendly service. £35/40 per head including wine, so towards upper end of scale, but an enjoyable dinner. Would visit again.

We were a bit surprised at the lack of quality of evening meals available in Alnwick so decided to go to Hardy’s Bistro, and we were not disappointed. Food was good and well-presented and the service was very good, the atmosphere was friendly and all in all we had a nice evening there.

We went for the week day lunch. We both had the soup and then the cod. Service was good and the place is ok. It does though feel tired and needs something doing to it. I think it is the entrance area and not Hardys itself. The bar area though does feel like a hotel bar and not somewhere you... More

Stumbled on this when our usual eating place closed. Part of the White Swan, it does two courses of chef prepared food in comfortable surroundings. Waiter service is excellent if a tad slow. The only complaint was the price of beer which was 25% dearer than usual in the area.

Though we'd been to Alnwick on several occasions, we'd never tried the food at Hardy's Bistro - part of the White Swan hotel - so plumped for dinner. We both had slow braised lamb with rosemary mash, root veg and braised leek and fennel, followed by treacle tart with cinammon ice cream. The lamb and mash and small root veg... More
