Best restaurant in Oundle!

Our second time eating here in the last year but we're not sure why we waited such a long time to return. The staff are all accommodating and friendly. We managed to drop a phone down the back of a radiator in our first 5 minutes - thought it was lost forever, but we were re-seated by our cheery... read more

My wife and I have started using Dexters for mid-week lunches. The food is always good, varied and the value, we feel sure, is unmatchable. The staff are polite and always willing to oblige. We leave knowing that we have had an enjoyable meal at a very good price. What more could you ask for?

Went in a group of eight and we had a range of different meals. It was midweek so no problem seating us, although the restaurant was quite full. Would be really good to return and sit outside in warmer weather s there is an alluring seating area outside. Good value, and service good also. I had one of the better... More

This is a little gem of a place, quaint & cute, situated in a row of tiny shops and restaurants. The food was scrumptious. The Whitebait was on'Specials' and was beautifully prepared as was the Calves Liver. Although the fillet steak was tender, I did specifically stress that I would like it "blue" and it was not served as such... More

Great courtyard setting for summer days / nights. Food is always good if occasionally limited in the selection. Wines are well chosen and good value. Staff are friendly, but service can be on the slow side. Nevertheless it well worth a visit.

Over baked & brittle. Garlic pizza not strong enough. Not like the picture on the menu. Restaurant is lovely to eat in! Just don't have the pizza.

Good honest food but with room for improvements. We ordered pizza, a steak and lamb tagine. The pizza was thin and crispy but incredibly hard to cut even with the pizza cutter provided. Nonetheless it was declared yummy by inhouse pizza expert (aka daughter). Husband ordered steak (medium) but part of the steak was closer to well done than medium.... More

8 of us arrived at 7.25 to a practically empty restaurant. The waitress finally took our order at 7.45, food arrived at 8.45. I asked to waitress at 8.25 when will our food arrive, I was told its on its way - it took 20 minutes to make its way down the stairs. Chips were full of fat !!! Steak... More

Booked for a midweek meal just in case ... Lots of tables available though. We were seated and served quickly. Initially the atmosphere was good soft music in the background with other guests around us etc but as it got to 9pm others had left and the music stopped so it was very quiet for just us two. The food... More

We decided to head out for a spontaneous Saturday night meal. Our first four choices using Trip advisor reviews were fully booked! We headed over to Dexters as they had availability, which for me was my first time. The other two in the group had visited it many times. The restaurant was busy with a great atmosphere. We were shown... More
