My fiancee and I stopped off here last Saturday afternoon to refuel after a gruelling trip to the garden centre. Firstly, it's worth pointing out they have Stella Cidre on tap, which is always a good thing in my books. There is also a great selection of ales and other drinks to suit all tastes. After a well earned pint... More

Popped in to the Stanwick for dinner on a week night. We both ordered sirloin steak and I have to say it was the best steak I have eaten in a restaurant. Cooked perfectly as requested (rare), it had loads of flavour and the fat was fried off so it was crisp and tasty (one of my guilty pleasures). It... More

We have eaten here numerous times and never been disappointed. The Sunday lunch is as good as you will get anywhere is the area and we have tried most. It's not cheffy it has a gorgeous homemade taste and very good value for money. Helen, Cath and Claire are very friendly and welcoming.

Having eaten out at several local establishments recently I had been left very dissatisfied until I visited The Stanwick. There were a nice selection of real ales from local breweries and I opted for a pint of Rivet Catcher which went down rather easily. Next my food arrived and my word it was heavenly. I opted for a steak sandwich... More

Been here several times for lunch and it's now one of our favourite places. Interesting menu and everything cooked to perfection. The chips today were the best I've had in a long time.

Went there on Friday 24 April for the St George's Day special. First impressions were of a very cozy welcoming environment, where the staff were very friendly and happy to see us. Second impressions through to last impressions confirmed what I thought, added some excellent beer, top notch cooking and terrific atmosphere. Wonderful value for money too. This was my... More

We had not been to the Stanwick before and booked Sunday lunch as the village seemed a nice place for a weekend drive out. We weren't familiar with the layout of the pub and on first arriving with my partners disabled mother it took some time before we were directed to where we would be sitting. In hindsight perhaps we... More

We visited for a meal on a Saturday night without booking and we were quickly found a table and given a very friendly welcome by all the staff. The meal was served quickly and was good. We returned for drinks the following night and the landlady helped us out with transport to our B & B. We were so grateful... More
