A great experience - afternoon tea in Richmond. Scones already prepared with jam and cream - odd, but very good and well worth trying. Even at the end of the day (not long before closing) we were welcomed and the experience was one worth repeating. If you're in or around Richmond, drop in and enjoy :)

Called here for a coffee and cake. Portions of cheesecake with ice cream was big enough for two people and most people seemed to be sharing. Cost £3.95 but given the portion size seems good value. Nice surroundings.

As it was a fine day we sat outside and watched the world go by. We were served excellent coffee by a very nice young lady and that is all we asked. Sometimes less is more.

This is practically the only place I have had red cabbage with all the other vegetables, highly recommended. Home made desserts to die for too!

We visited this little cafe 3 times during our weeks stay in Richmond, the food was lovely on two occasions with the service matching up to it but everything fell woefully short on the last visit. It seemed to be a different team of staff on the Friday who were incredibly disorganized - unless you wanted burnt offerings which they... More

We've been coming to the Cross View tea rooms for years for morning or afternoon tea with scones and/or cakes. The scones are the best we've tasted anywhere - just have to forget about the diet for a while! Note that this place is usually full, and regulars all know that its best to book - otherwise one can be... More

I needed a simple meal during a fairly long walk and when I asked some local people they recommended this restaurant. I had a nicely presented sandwich with a salad dressing and a generous sized pot of fruit tea. There was a wonderful selection of freshly baked scones, cakes and desserts. My lemon meringue was very good.

Stopped here for lunch on very wet, last day of holiday in Yorkshire. As refugees from the rain it was so satisfying to sit down and be fed some real comfort food ! Sunday, late lunchtime so very busy but they found us a table quite quickly. The roast beef was not quite as tasty as I'd hoped (the beef... More

I brought my grandparents here for a coffee. It's a traditional yorkshire cafe located in the Richmond market town on the cobble road. Very charming and serves great coffee and as my grandad says giant cake slices!
