Sunday lunch was gorgeous and so was the chocolate brownie! Quality meat and beautiful mash and veg. Food was quick, service was great and portions were generous. Very good value for money. I would definitely recommend. My new favourite pub for Sunday lunch.

I visited today for Sunday lunch. I have the 4 meats. All of which was tasteless. The veg was lovely and cooked just right but the meat was poor quality. Overall I didn't enjoy the meal. We opted for 2 desserts to fill up. Treacle pudding which tasted like raw dough and the honeycomb Sunday which was nice. Overall it's... More

Welcoming atmosphere, bar staff very friendly may need to book a table as extremely popular on a Saturday night. Menu varied, meals cooked to order, lots of fresh vegetables all in all excellent experience and lovely food.

Been a regular here for as long as I can remember, normally warm and friendly, now cold and empty. Clearly a change has occurred? Upon entering only about 4 or 5 tables were occupied throughout the whole establishment, highly unusual for the Shorthorn at 8pm in the evening. We were given a cramped corner table and were given short shrift... More

Cannot fault the location(rural retreat),quality of the food( exceptional), staff (more than helpful) all worthy of 100% Disabled facilities 0% No ramp, no toilet ( not even enough room to get wheelchair through existing doorframe) all rather traumatic for my 94 year old father, who'd travelled all the way from Hartlepool for a family celebration. Very disappointing

This is the second time we have eaten at The Shorthorn in 12 months. Truly delightful and the food and service is excellent. Would highly recommend this restaurant for couples and family and we shall be visiting soon I hope!

Having booked for 8.15pm you would expect to eat before 9.50pm. However this was not the case and the waiting staff seen to think that it was acceptable and never offered an apology. We had to ask several times what was happening and then we taken to the table and left a further 15 minutes. The food was average and... More

A very enjoyable night out.We were greeted by very friendly staff and shown to our table. We were given plenty time to peruse the menu and make our choices. We waited a little while for our food to come but well worth the wait. There was four of us and we had two starters, four mains, two desserts and coffee's.We could not fault...
