Christmas meal with a group of friends

Enjoyed the Christmas menu in Dec 2015 with slimming group and we had a fab choice of a 3 course meal. Enjoyed the food and company.

Four of us visited on a Saturday lunchtime to take advantage of the 3 courses for £10 offer. I had heard good things about this place, but the quality and value of the food was really excelptional. I had a pulled pork rissole with spicy barbecue sauce, followed by a lovely fish pie with mash and green peas. For dessert,... More

We come on new years eve and the food was superb as usual however a supposed magician was visiting tables performing magic tricks in between him dripping sweat everywhere whilst someone filmed him - not pleasant whilst eating. the 'disco' was very disappointing the supposed DJ was awful! The choice of music was the very worst, and he didn't even... More

Dear Yamin J, Thank you for placing a review on this site. Very sorry to hear that on this occasion(s) we have under delivered on our usual standards. We are aware that the disco was not as good this year as in previous. This has been dealt with internally with our supplier. We have used the same magician and disco... More

We visited for new years eve. The room was fine, clean, warm and comfortable beds. Had booked a meal in the bar and it was busy but had to wait 40 minutes for starter which was only a soup supposed to be served with a mini loaf but was a twisted sweet tasting bread not very nice. The rest of... More

I had mentioned to my wife that we should go out for a bite to eat on Friday evening, however, the final cuisine or venue wasn't decided upon until an hour or two prior to going out! We chose the Village Inn at Brompton, Northallerton after hearing good reports about the place. On arrival the place was reasonably busy with... More

We cannot thank the Village Inn enough for looking after us so well at last Sunday's christening function, the buffet food was exceptionally good and the sweets to die for. The chocolate torte is the best I have ever eaten! Staff as usual were very polite and attentive. Thank you for making a great day even better.

Having previously enjoyed vey good meals here, we were disappointed that having booked for 7:00 pm we had to wait an hour from ordering for our food to arrive We were not advised of delays but it seems preference had been given to a large party. Our young daughter's meal was provided earlier but this mean't she was bored stiff... More

Dear Jonathan F, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on here. Apologise for the delay on this occasion. I will investigate this further but can assure you no preference is given to any one table during service. However if there was a delay the manager on duty should have kept you up to date throughout the... More

Visited here on several occasions and really cannot fault it. Food is a bit pricey but is honestly so worth it, always delicious. Always come here for a meal out for special occasion, and good friends of ours had their wedding reception here which was gorgeous and the food was brilliant then as well. Love it!
