It is nice for older people. I used to love going here for a milkshake and scone when I was little with my mum and nan but now I am 19 and visiting I realise how over priced it is for what it is. Drinks are cheap even though they come in a can with a glass and the milkshake... More

Every so often we visit Northallerton on market days (Wednesdays, with Farmers' market on the 4th Wednesday. There is a large car park behind the Main Street, and we found this small cafe in one of the side streets between the car park and the market. And now we always go there. There is quite a large menu for a... More

Visited the tea room today for lunch. On the first approach the garthway looked like an appropriate stop off point before exploring the town further! I was with friends and two of us ordered paninis and one of us baked potato! Our food was relatively tasty and came quickly. However, the experience was spoiled by the severely unfriendly and verging... More

Very friendly cafe with home made food. Excellent value for money. Well worth a visit. Locally home grown products used.

Great, freshly cooked, locally sourced, produce. The full English is my favourite and there is plenty on the menu to cater for all tastes, including a specials board.

We tried this cafe on Market Day: I had a BLT sandwich which on the menu was described as served with salad garnish and Pringle crisps: the sandwich came on its own on a small plate: no salad garnish and no pringles: my 'better half' had a warm bacon/black pudding salad: it was ok but certainly no 'wow' factor: pot... Most visitors to Northallerton will miss this treat, hidden down the Garthway Arcade. Wonderful breakfasts, sumptuous cakes, lovely staff and a cracking cuppa are all available at excellent prices. Always busy, but pleasantly relaxed seating and extra space upstairs, it's one of my favourite places to meet friends.
