We walked in Hawes from Hawes Caravan Club site for coffee and cake after reading the reviews on trip advisor. We were not disappointed it is a lovely place and the homemade chocolate brownie and lemon polenta cake were delicious. It was also nice to see gluten free cakes. This was our first day of our holiday but we will... More

We stopped into the Herriot's kitchen after a long weekend walking. The staff at the Herriot's kitchen were faultless, going above and beyond the requirement of customer service. It was truly a pleasure to sit surrounded by the beautiful art work whilst tasting the kitchen's delights. Thank you for your upmost kindness.

This is a place that you'll visit every time that you are in the area. The soup is exquisite - try the 'sweet potato and rosemary' or the tomato - to die for! Take in the artwork in beautiful surroundings (Piers Browne's oil paintings are outstanding - need a selection of better quality signed and framed prints for those who... More

Great quality homemade food. Chocolate Brownie was just heavenly! I can also recommend the ciabattas. The staff are lovely and it has lots of artwork to enjoy while your eating.

During a break on the Vintage Bus Tour around Wensleydale we called at Herriots for a spot of lunch. Excellent Pannini, beautiful presentation and then a slice of the best chocolate brownie ever. Service was efficient and there were lovely bits of artwork to enjoy. Wish I could have afforded to buy one but good to look at. Will certainly... More

Very good quality food, homemade. Recommend the short bread biscuits, fruit scones and the soup was excellent. They could make it look a bit cosier but we were really impressed otherwise.

An excellent restaurant with very attentive service, we called into Herriot's for a sandwich before our walk, the food was excellent home made fayre, one of my friends is a coeliac which is normally an obstacle, not at Herriot's! An excellent choice was made available to her, both savoury and home made cakes. After our walk we returned for more,... More

We had previously had excellent service here on a very cold day last year when we were the only customers. There were many more customers today but the service & food quality was just as good.. We shall certainly call again on our next visit to Hawes.

We always end up here away from the run of the mill cafés. Always pleasant and a good lunch menu. We had paninis with cheeses and bacon ans a decent cup of tea (should have asked which brand it was....)
