Just to reiterate what has already been said about this pub. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The food is superb and in big portions. They coped with all 6 of us with no problems and most importantly our dog was welcome too! We stayed in the village of Muston, a very short walk from our cottage was the Ship. A great little pub, as pubs should be, good wholesome food, at a reasonable price, good beer, and friendly helpful staff. Its also dog friendly, which adds to its appeal. If you like traditional village pubs this one is for you

We stopped off whilst on holiday in the area. The staff were very accommodating and although childrens food options weren't really on the menu they did have all the usual on offer when asked. The food was nice, my brother in law had the steak pie and he enjoyed very much. For me it was a bit average and a... More

We are locals and quite often have Sunday lunch at the ship which is amazing, home cooked tasty food and plenty of it. This week we called in for an evening meal whilst the scarecrow festival.there were 5 adults and one child. All meals were exceptional, we had steak pie, lasagne, scampi, spicy chicken wrap and beef stroganoff. The child's meal was... More

The number of closed pubs in this area is depressing, and we were so pleased to find this one as we were about to give up and buy a picnic! The decor is quirky to the point of demented - where else would you find row upon row of stone hot water bottles, railway lamps, ships in bottles (one of... More

Lovely home cooked food. Meat pie with good pastry topping and lots of tender meat. Vegetables freshly harvested that day, rhubarb crumble and custard made with cream. I had a good piece of Gannon with hot pineapple home cooked wedge chips and salad very enjoyable. Pub very atmospheric, staff friendly. Will definitely visit again.visited on the 9th July. Must visit

We booked a table for 3 on Fathers Day, it was a pleasant surprise for my Dad, we had the Sunday Lunch - Roast Beef and all the trimmings - roast potatoes, boiled potatoes, mash potatoes, cabbage, turnip, carrots, very good size potions, with plenty of gravy, the desserts were very tasty- homemade apple & Blamble crumble with custurd. They... More

We were on holiday at primrose valley looking for somewhere local to eat, we looked on trip advisor and decided on the ship in, tye pub was alot smaller than we thought it would be and extremely warm inside, myself and my mother both ordered steak pie the meal was all microwaved including the pastry! My mum was very disapointed... More

We were on holiday staying at The Bay ,went for a drive and found the fabulous Ship Inn, wonderful welcome , lovely intimate surrounding and a meal to die for. It was a rather special anniversary meal. The downside was we came home the next day . if you want something a bit special try it.

A popular pub in the village full of locals, but with space and time for visitors. It was great for us as it was in walking distance of our campsite. Food was good and tasty, and some real ales too. Would definitely return if in the area.
