The number of closed pubs in this area is depressing, and we were so pleased to find this one as we were about to give up and buy a picnic! The decor is quirky to the point of demented - where else would you find row upon row of stone hot water bottles, railway lamps, ships in bottles (one of... More

Lovely home cooked food. Meat pie with good pastry topping and lots of tender meat. Vegetables freshly harvested that day, rhubarb crumble and custard made with cream. I had a good piece of Gannon with hot pineapple home cooked wedge chips and salad very enjoyable. Pub very atmospheric, staff friendly. Will definitely visit again.visited on the 9th July. Must visit

We booked a table for 3 on Fathers Day, it was a pleasant surprise for my Dad, we had the Sunday Lunch - Roast Beef and all the trimmings - roast potatoes, boiled potatoes, mash potatoes, cabbage, turnip, carrots, very good size potions, with plenty of gravy, the desserts were very tasty- homemade apple & Blamble crumble with custurd. They... More

We were on holiday staying at The Bay ,went for a drive and found the fabulous Ship Inn, wonderful welcome , lovely intimate surrounding and a meal to die for. It was a rather special anniversary meal. The downside was we came home the next day . if you want something a bit special try it.

A popular pub in the village full of locals, but with space and time for visitors. It was great for us as it was in walking distance of our campsite. Food was good and tasty, and some real ales too. Would definitely return if in the area.

Went here for the first time last Saturday, the staff cannot do enough for you, the food was excellent, not a big choice however I had game Pie £9.95 off the specials board and it was excellent. Enjoyed it so much we went back on Friday for another meal, the bar staff remembered us so that is a bonus. This... More

Had a lovely meal with the family, staff very accommodating, it is quite small so booking is advisable. Would definitely go again.
