This is one of our favourite cafes, we frequently stay in Burton on Strather and walk the 3 miles along the river to sample the cakes here. I had the coconut and lime, my hubby had the coffee and walnut, accompanied by Lattes. Not only were they delicious but the cake portion was very generous. Friendly staff and quick service... More

Popped in here today after a walk around Julians Bower and Alkeborough Flats. Have been before and enjoyed the food. Again today we were not disappointed. Although busy, the friendly younger waitress came to take our order which was delivered very quickly. We had scones, hubby a sultana one with jam and myself a cherry one with just butter and... More

Made a trip here for my mother in laws birthday after reading reviews on trip advisor and we weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly and the service good. My mother in law and I shared a plate of sandwiches and they kindly split them onto 2 separate plates both with salad and crisps. We all had a slice of... More

I seem to be incredibly unfortunate that every time I visit I am told they have "run out of food". It doesn't help that one of the staff is quite rude and abrasive. The last occasion we arrived after a lovely walk at Julian's Bower. It was 3pm on a Sunday and they state they are open until 4pm. Interestingly... More

Walking along the Trent River cliffs from Burton Stather to Whitton we came accross these tea rooms around lunch time. Just what we needed, everything from baked potatoes through toasties to excellent sausage and bacon rolls. We came back later in the afternoon to try out the cream tea and cakes. We were not at all disappointed. Great spot we... More

Superb little cafe. Good quality food and great service. Only down side is they don't do cook breakfasts after a certain time and the other hot items are a little limited. I have been here numerous times and have always enjoyed the food. It is child friendly as I take my daughter with me.

We have been going to the Paddocks for lunch almost every Friday.for about four years. The staff are really friendly, the food is very good, especially the delicious home made cakes and the scones are to die for!!! Recently we took my 93 year old mother there for lunch on her birthday, having told them the week before that it... More

Took my wife here for her birthday afternoon tea and we both enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Certainly on the list to return to and recommend to friends.
