My birthday treat from the family was a Sunday lunch. The service was superb and the food delicious with mouth watering morsels. Really enjoyed the 4 hours there.

Lovely food, well cooked and tasty. All the bread is homemade and they also make the petit fours. We had a tasting menu which was superb.

Took a friend to Magpies today for lunch, all the food was amazing as usual, menu was varied. Andrew and Caroline make an excellent team. Diners who say the portions are small it is quality not quantity with the Magpies food locally sourced of course. My son can eat very well but never leaves the restaurant hungry.

After hearing very good things about the restaurant we decided to go and have a try. From the moment we entered the place, we didn't feel very welcomed, the atmosphere is simply not there and the service was poor with regards to the communication. The food was all right, but way too expensive and very small portions... I wouldn't go... More

My wife and I have been dining at Magpies for eight years now, and the thing that stands out the most is the consistency of standards. The service, atmosphere, comfort and value is always up there with the best. As for the food, well, surely a Michelin star cannot be far away. To have such a restaurant as this in a... More

I liked what i saw and my husband and i decided to go and we are really pleased we did. On a Saturday night it is a three course dinner menu. On our arrival... More

We went for Sunday lunch for our wedding anniversary to Magpies and were not disappointed. The dining experience is certainly memorable, you are made to feel special from the moment you step into this place till you leave. The food is beautifully prepared and served, not your run of the mill offerings. What is surprising is the cost of all... More

Family meal for 4 (my in laws very kindly took us out for dinner!). Fabulous restaurant and great value for what it offers. Lots of lovely touches like the amuse bouche while we were waiting to be seated and delicious petit fours to bring the night to a close. I chose the pork belly to start - tender and full... More

I recently posted a rather negative review of Sat Bains. We came to Magpies for my wife's birthday and frankly I would rather come back here than return to Sat Bains. The food is interesting and tasty and whilst not perfect there is always the feeling of trying very hard. Wine list very good and has a selection of half... More
