Can This Be True

We had a lovely meal here and the staff were excellent. We gave our normal 15% tip as the staff were very attentive. We found out later that the staff do not receive any of the tips but are just paid the minimum wage! Can this be true???

We had a lovely lunch here to celebrate our anniversary. The food was excellent plenty of choice on the menu , good home made food full of flavour , no need for seasoning and although our plates were not full we left the resturant full after two courses. We especially liked the apperatiffe and the home made rolls served which... More

I can't believe this little gem is on our doorstep. The food was excellent, I have eaten at numerous high end restaurants and the food definitely is on a par with the majority. Is it 'Heston' style liquid nitrogen infused cuisine, no it isn't but it certainly is superb, beautifully presented, modern stylish food served in a lovely setting by... More

Excellent evening. Food superb. Lots of variety and interesting flavours. Wines matched each course. Price very reasonable £95 per head including wines and champagne. An average restaurant on New Years Eve would be £55 to £65 a head plus alcohol so at £95 a head for excellence has to be very good value. I have been fortunate to eat at... More

My birthday treat from the family was a Sunday lunch. The service was superb and the food delicious with mouth watering morsels. Really enjoyed the 4 hours there.

Lovely food, well cooked and tasty. All the bread is homemade and they also make the petit fours. We had a tasting menu which was superb.

Took a friend to Magpies today for lunch, all the food was amazing as usual, menu was varied. Andrew and Caroline make an excellent team. Diners who say the portions are small it is quality not quantity with the Magpies food locally sourced of course. My son can eat very well but never leaves the restaurant hungry.

After hearing very good things about the restaurant we decided to go and have a try. From the moment we entered the place, we didn't feel very welcomed, the atmosphere is simply not there and the service was poor with regards to the communication. The food was all right, but way too expensive and very small portions... I wouldn't go... More
