We were trying to reach a different venue but a bike race prevented this. We decided to head for Horncastle and I'm so glad we did... What a find. You get shown into a lovely comfy area to choose from the menu and order drinks. The menu looks limited but stay with it... It's limited for a reason. I have... More

After going to Magpies based on many many recommendations we were not disappointed! We went to celebrate our anniversary... it was the perfect evening! We arrived and were greated by a very lovely lady whom sat us in the quaint lounge while we waited we were brought a beautiful selection of nibbles which we weren't expecting! The wine list is... There is no better place to eat in rural Lincolnshire, a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and really excellent food. Focussing on local produce, the cuisine is imaginative and tasty with good presentation accompanied by a wide choice of wines from Corney & Barrow. The decor is comfortable and cottagey in harmony with the lovely old building, if you want... More

Fine dining in a restaurant that also has some bedrooms. We felt very spoilt with great service and an inventive menu, Lincolnshire produce and fish featured strongly, and really good desserts prepared by Magpies. The menu has a similar feel to Winteringham Fields without the cost, highly recommended.

We had a lovely meal here and the staff were excellent. We gave our normal 15% tip as the staff were very attentive. We found out later that the staff do not receive any of the tips but are just paid the minimum wage! Can this be true???

We had a lovely lunch here to celebrate our anniversary. The food was excellent plenty of choice on the menu , good home made food full of flavour , no need for seasoning and although our plates were not full we left the resturant full after two courses. We especially liked the apperatiffe and the home made rolls served which... More
