One of the best meals I have had anywhere

What a treat- small apperatives very tasty- parsnip crisps, shot glass soup and fish ball. Taster course of fish, starter of three types of salmon- delicious! Mains of rib eye steak perfectly cooked with melt in the mouth liver and a tiny steak and kidney pie. Dessert was three mini desserts, again delicious. All looked and tasted delicious.

This was our 4th meal here in the last year and the food was better than ever. The scallops in Pernod were a delight as was the soufflé. The St Emilion was an excellent vintage and pretty reasonably priced. If you live close by you must try Magpies as a treat.

English food all sourced locally. Classic dishes done to perfection. Well presented with extras between courses. Puddings to die for all made at the restaurant. Service is descreet but attentive. Prices are slightly expensive for the area, but such good value for a special night out.

We were trying to reach a different venue but a bike race prevented this. We decided to head for Horncastle and I'm so glad we did... What a find. You get shown into a lovely comfy area to choose from the menu and order drinks. The menu looks limited but stay with it... It's limited for a reason. I have... More
