We chose to visit the Wheatsheaf on what turned out to be a busy night for parties. Our food took over an hour and twenty mins to arrive despite prompting. The staff we spoke to were bordering on rude (but did seem very stressed). It was explained to us that we're 'issues' in the kitchen and that this wasn't our... More

It was reasonable - the food is not home cooked of course so what more can you expect. We are spoilt as we have a pub closer to us that does home cooked food which is excellent and really reasonably priced.

At a recent funeral, we went for food. The manageress dressed in jeans, stormed up and said that isn't ready yet, I said 2 people have already been up, she was banging plates about. Within 2 hours she started moving tables and clearing the food away. Brushing lettuce and prawns onto the floor. I said she's a bit ignorant, it's... More

This family visit for our Son's 21st Birthday wasn't as good as expected. My Husband had the chicken which was way overcooked & dry. I had the chilli with home cooked tortilla chips & rice. The Chilli was barely warm, the tortilla chips were very thin and not really crispy. And the rice was a bit too undercooked. The portion... More

I ordered Fish and chips the simplest menu item known to pubs my dining partner ordered the cheeseburger. Speaking from experience as a chef the price seemed fair until the food made an appearance, Instantly i didn't like the look of the food burger was dripping with grease, Batter on the fish was shown as being golden and crispy when... Decided to call in for Tea to the local Pub restaurant. Wednesday evening, fairly busy and only two staff on the bar with most tables full! Girl behind the bar a bit slow with the customer service skills after we were kept waiting due to a fault on the till. Little atmosphere here tonight but it was a quiet tea.... More

I´m a regular visitor to the Weatsheaf but just not sure about the food anymore. For the past few times I´ve been the quality has just declined. If it wasn´t for the cosy feel to the pub, I probably would stop going but I like that it´s quiet and I like the staff. Time before last my husband had the... More

My husband took me out for lunch here and it was really good but we waited such a long time, ok it's a popular place but if you know it's going to be busy then put more staff on. I had the pulled pork jacket potato and my husband had a double hamburger with pulled pork on top.......it really was... More
