I know this is the sort of restaurant that is a little different from the usual Cleethorpes fish places. it is more upmarket, than say - Steels, and for that it needs to be commended. The food is no doubt excellent, very fresh - great ingredients. The food looks and tastes wonderful. But for the price that the meals cost,... More

Visited here on Sunday on a beautiful sunny day, happened to fall on this establishment during a walk along the coast. Fish and chips to perfection. Fresh home cooked chips and cod that was meaty and melt in the mouth. A classy airy restaurant that takes the edge away from the central greasy cafés !!! A must for all fish... More

My Partner and I where in Grimsby this weekend (He's a native). We where going to the music festival but alas the weather was rubbish so our plans changed to drinks and dinner by the sea. Friends of ours booked us in at the Captain's Table for 7.30pm. I was dubious as not a fish fan... On arrival we where... More

Had a lovely lunch at The Captains Table today. Great service, fantastic food. An altogether brilliant meal at a very reasonable price.

We visited for the first time in a couple of years or so on a Tuesday evening in July. The restaurant was quiet, but there was a single large group on a nearby table. My wife ordered a Prawn Cocktail, and I had the fish croutons . The prawns came in a molded shape on top of sliced avocado (see... More

My wife and I had to spend a day in the local area doing my Dad's garden which had been seriously neglected. Not being familiar with the area we sort advice from his neighbours who recommended "The Captain's Table" on Kingsway, Cleethorpes. We arrived circa 16.00 hrs somewhat dirty and dishevelled from a good 7 hours non stop gardening and... More

As a long-time visitor to Steel's since childhood, I've found it disappointing on the last couple of visits. I moved away over 30 years ago but still love my fish & chips, and always crave them when I visit family! We have been here twice now and it has been great on both occasions. First time I went for the... More

Really gutted with tonight's meal. I personally loved my starter of king prawns but the wife's 'king' scallops were quite underwhelming . Mains both looked good with both being Turbot. Only issue was one was full of bones. Bit off putting if felt but the staff dealt with it by discounting one of our puddings. This was where the fun... More

Very tasty fresh food. Quite expensive for day time with little atmosphere. On a positive quality- perhaps better in evening rather than mid afternoon when visited

Booked in for an early Father's Day lunch, we were seated quite quickly and order taken, we were asked if we wanted bread and butter with meal, which we said yes. Food turned up soon enough but alas no bread and butter!. Food quality was ok but not fantastic. We then waited 15 mins after finishing for a waitress to... More
