Me and my wife visited this place last week, We just popped in on the off chance and was greeted with a smile. We got a table no trouble at all. Initially I thought it was a tad pricey, but when the food arrived I was not disappointed at all, I even ate the fish skin which is not something... More

Popped one Friday tea time with my Mum - had not booked and we asked to eat. There was some confusion before being told that yes there was a table for two but we would need to vacate after one and a half hours! Not very welcoming.... We assured that that we did not intend to stay for that length... More

We both chose haddock and chips, at 10.95 each, the fish and batter was good , however the chips were a poor standard with a lot of scappy bits that could not be eaten, no better than your average chip shop, I was very disappointed with them considering the price, service was good.

Went there on sunday and had cod and chips 4 times. When we got our food it was haddock, ask what is was and told it was haddock, said we asked for cod and then she changed her mind. The haddock was ok, but greasy and the chips had been refried and tasted of little else but oil. Glad we... More

The cod was fresh and batter excellent . I live in cleethorpes so have tried most of the fish and chip shops in the area but the captains table is the best fish restaurant by far . The only problem was no actual children's menu was available but if your a couple here on holiday this is a must .

The fish is so fresh its nearly still in the ocean, I have been converted to eating more fish after visiting, the variety is great and the fact thats its all fresh not frozen, line caught makes such a difference, the specials menu is dependant on what is caught, if the Scampi is on the menu I would highly recommend... We ate here tonight. The outside is quite unprepossessing, but the interior of this restaurant is lovely. The meal we had was outstanding. Superb quality food cooked to perfection. I started with the seafood chowder which was a large portion and really delicious. My husband had the scallops. I then had the salmon which again was an outstanding course, whilst... More

We decided to try this rather than Steels. What a great choice we made! From the minute you walk in you are greeted by happy chirpy staff who can't do enough for you. We all had the traditional fish and chips. Great choice, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would definitely go back again!
