The best fish & chip restaurant by a country mile, fish, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter and a cup of tea all for £8:95. Staff really friendly and provide first class service, if you don't want tea or coffee you can have alcohol instead. Greeted at the door and taken to your table, pre-book if you don't want to... This was our first port of call after a long drive, and we're glad we went. TA rates this place highly and it certainly was worth the money and the queue on a Friday evening! We both had cod and chips, and I had curry sauce, all of which was hot, tasty and very good value for money. Well worth... More

This has been a firm family favourite for years. You are greeted at the door, shown to yoir table and you order at the bar. Great menu, food is always piping hot. Chips cooked in beef dripping and fish is cooked to perfection. Well worth a visit as it knocks socks off its other two main local rivals!

This is the second time we've been here and certainly loved it both times. The overall ambiance of the place is fantastic, the music is great and not too loud, and the service is wonderful - just attentive enough and certainly not overwhelming. The food is always cooked beautifully and is very reasonably priced. I particularly like that they do... More

Been here a couple of times now and have to say that each time the food and service has been outstanding. The price has also been very reasonable as well. A dinner for four including drinks was £35. In light of the portions and quality this was excellent value. A word of warning though. I was feeling quite peckish when... More

I am from NZ, we do good fish n chips. But this is the best fish n chips I have ever had. The fish n chips were just as good when I first ate here 6 years ago. The batter was not thick, gloopy and heavy, but light and delicious - it was not the main ingredient, the fish was.... More

Carol met us and warmly settled us at our table. Obviously a woman who takes pride in her establishment and cuisine. The menus are straightforward and there are traditional options of fish(haddock of course!) and chips, mushy peas, B&B and tea for a great value price. We only waited a mere 7 minutes before we were eating fried fish hard... More

We really enjoyed sitting in the Ocean Fish Bar, and having our fish and chips, peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea, served to us. Everything was well cooked, and the portions were of a good size. Glad we were recommended to visit.

We went for my wife's birthday tea on the 7th of August. The food was ok .. just that really and for what it was I thought over priced. But the wife enjoyed her sea bass. The one major let down was the two ladies who I think seemed to be the owners , who reduced two members of their... More
