7 of us went for a Sunday lunch. Sat in the comfortable lounge area before the meal and someone came to take our drinks order. After the drinks came they came to take our meal order. I love everyhting about this restaurant, there is nothing to dislike. It is ideal for an overnight stay too as it is so close to the beach and town center but jsut off the beaten track if you want a bit of peace and quiet. Parking spaces are limited though.

This is a small dinning room with little space to move, tables cramped together, the food was OK but nothing special, the service was at a snails pace, I too was at the Dovedale to celebrate a birthday, and as in the last review regarding the laughing, I don't believe it is illegal to laugh a person's laugh is distinctive... Went last night to The Dovedale for a friends birthday treat. The meal was lovely - here comes the 'but' - a large birthday party in the same, not very big, dining room had a very loud persistent ear piercing laughing banshee!! She constantly cackled like a witch even after the waitresses had asked her to tone it down. Why... More

We go as a couple for afternoon tea once a month at least, it's always a pleasant experience and really tasty. It's a treat for us to get together in lovely surroundings and indulge with the tasty treats, the staff are always polite and friendly. Great value too.

We chose the Dovedale for my husband's 50th birthday dinner as we've eaten here before and always enjoyed it. Table for six diners for 7pm, our order was taken promptly and we were seated st 7.15pm. Three of us ordered starters, they did not arrive until 8.10pm! I ordered the mussels which was £6.95, there were seven mussels in the... More

Having reserved a table for 4pm on Sunday and arriving at 3.25pm for pre drinks were served at the bar with two cokes and a pint of bitter shandy and waited 25 minutes for the hot chocolate to arrive.the shandy was made with soda water and not lemonade .This was pointed out to the waitress when the hot chocolate finally...
