We ate here with friends on a Friday night (although we have visited several times over the last few years with a range of different owners). The outside and interior is old fashioned and 'pubby' but the food is excellent including good steaks and a changing specials board. Everyone enjoyed their meals which were high quality and well cooked. If... More

Upon arrival we were offered drinks. There is a comprehensive specials board and menu. Absolutely fantastic food for all in our party, there were 8 of us each having different starters, mains and deserts. Brilliant friendly service from all the staff with the chef even checking our satisfaction with us. Definitely recommend.

Went here for lunch the other day with my family. The pub has parking which is good. The inside would do with some love - it's pretty dated and all the chairs are worn. We ordered from the lunch menu. All the portions were really generous - the chips were a bit greasy and some of the thicker ones were... More

Decent pub with a fire and proper beer. Food is excellent and it is good value especially at lunch for the quality of dishes. Cannot tell you the quality of deserts, never get that far due to the generous portion size.

Found in the village of Smisby, just a few minutes from the A42. Car park to front and plenty of on street parking. Lovely homely pub, with welcoming staff and a nice wood fire warming the place on what was a cold winter evening. We hadn't booked a table, but managed to get one, but I would advise booking as... The Smisby is such an unassuming pub but the food is on another level. Great steaks always heaps of specials. Food always arrives piping hot not service lamp warm like most places. Service always spot on. Really well priced. 5 stars. Visited Feb 2015 for the millionth time

Been here on many occasions and always had good meal. Sunday lunch is excellent. Large varied menu. My only minor complaint is that you only get the choice of chips and peas or potatoes and veg. I don't like peas, and they won't do chips and veg. I think they should be a bit more flexible.

It's a quiet pub with a restaurant vibe to it. Great food at reasonable prices. Great staff. Comfortable. Great for taking the older members of family. Or for family meals.
