Superb ingredients,superbly cooked

A beautifully comfy upmarket pub. It's a great place to spend some time. The classics are treated really well. Great bread, the best chips you will ever taste and a soufflé close to the best in the land ( you need to visit Koffman's for the best). Ingredients are top notch quality and cooked with... read more

My Sister and Brother in law, very kindly treated me to a Sunday lunch and it was fantastic, their roast beef is sirloin and melts in the mouth and the flavour fab.

Been here many times, but after our last visit had to write another review. Top class dining, exceptional food, delivery, style and choice and such value for money, 3 courses for £16.95 it is wonderful. Friendly and helpful staff. We always use the wine waiter to choose our wines to go with our food, one with starter, one with main... More

Thursday lunchtime, we eventually found this restaurant after driving round the village of Wiswell a few times! Expecting a big sign and a car park, we were surprised to find neither but parked in the village street and walked up the little lane to the pub. The £16 three course lunch menu was delightful and delicious with perfectly cooked seasonal... More

Having initially tried booking Northcote manor who were fully booked, they (surprisingly) recommended the Freemasons. We visited on a Sunday and chose the 3 course lunch menu for £25. On arrival it became clear that this is not standard pub food or service. The surroundings although pub-like were more akin to a gentlemans shooting and hunting parlour, which was quirky.... More

We had booked Sunday Lunch as a belated treat from my son. This was our first visit to the Freemasons and from the minute we arrived we were impressed by the welcome and courtesy of the staff. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and the quality and presentation of the food was just perfect. We had the £25 lunch option... More

Dined here on Friday evening. The food was incredible and the wine that was recommended by the sommelier was excellent. We found the staff incredibly attentive and professional. Cannot wait to visit again with friends.

Booked a table here online using 'open table' never used them before but everything was easy and the booking worked. Early evening meal on Sunday. Just two of us. Food options are not extensive but there was a Sunday lunch offer of £25 per person which looked amazing value. Clientèle was couples and families. Not packed out but busy. The... More

I found the restaurant very pleasant, the staff helpful. my big disappointment was the high cost of the food. I had what was described as suckling pig which when in arrived was no more than 'belly pork' and an array of what I can only describe as 'sauces'. The lack of 'food' on my plate for a cost of £23.95... More

simply nothing to dislike no matter how discerning a diner. attention to detail in every aspect and a recent birthday party meal in a private dining area was perfection.
