Great pub with restaurant

Birthday Sunday lunch in March. We arrived early. 12.15 and already busy managed to get a table. The famous fish pie is to die for Great place and setting. We stayed once in the joining cottages which was a treat

Beautiful place. Always busy on holidays. Great at any time but the roaring fires and Christmas decorations take it up a notch. Unfortunately, it's popularity is spreading and it does get busy. If you can find a day when it's not so busy and while away a few house it is very special

This is probably my favourite place to visit for a meal. The location is stunning and the inn itself is lovely and relaxing . The food is always fabulous. I especially love the lamb. Everything about the place exudes a relaxing quality . The bar area has lots of atmosphere. There is also a more formal dining room and another... More

We have stayed in one of the cottages here ( with our dog ripley) on our wedding anniversary last year and loved the food in the bar informal and doggy friendly , the food is very good and the pub is laid back and our visits are always memorable

We'd been on a lovely walk across the fells from Chipping and we were lucky enough to find a vacant table ( which is unusual ) , far safer to book! The beer was fantastic and our food was delivered swiftly and with finesse. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. The inn never fails to make you smile,... More

This is a special secret place that is now very well known, You can have traditional fish and chips or something lovely like duckling from the specials. Atmosphere is relaxed yet up market. Views are superb.

Having visited here on many occasions over the two decades I have seen many changes to the structure and decor of " The Inn" but the things that have stayed consistent are the quality of the food and service and the beauty of the surroundings. My only reservation is the restricted times that food is served. I just wish that... More

Always feels like you have had a good night out when you visit the whitewell. Self order at the bar for restaurant quality food. No table bookings in the informal rooms so turn up early or around 9.00pm if you don't want to have to wait for a table. Sauces were a little too strong and over powering on our... More

This is a true favourite of mine and a true gem of a place to wine, dine and sleep! Whether you're wanting a tasty lunch in-front of a log fire after a long walk in the beautiful surrounding countryside, or a special dinner for two followed by a great nights sleep, the this is the place to deliver - don't...
