South to Hampshire for family Christmas. Power failure from 23rd to 27th pm. Eleven in the house including young children. No heat, no light and very shortly no water, no lavatory flush and flat phones. At first light on 27th buried the rotting turkey, sausages, bacon and all the trimmings in the veg. garden. Desperate for heat, light, a hot... More

We went to the Red Pump with a party of 17 one evening. Great food, good service and cosy venue. We'll be returning after Christmas.

Went last Saturday night to the red pump, It was pretty quiet (booked for 7:30). The two waitresses working were very pleasant and very professional and attentive, we were also impressed by the knowledge of the dishes on the menu and the wines by one particular young waitress. We took our two daughters and one of their friends along, we... More

Visited on a Saturday lunch, place very quiet a maximum of 2 other couples in during our drinks and food. Really nice interior and very spacious - lots of litte rooms, nooks and cranny's. Couple of decent real ales - Hawkshead Windermere Pale Ale was particularly palatable. Food very tasty and reasonably priced for a gastro pub type establishment. Gammon... More

Regularly go for weekday lunches to restaurants in Lancashire, especially around Clitheroe area which has an abundance of quality food establishments. this inn is regularly advertised and recommended by several authors, decided to give it a try. Sadly not an enjoyable experience. Arrived a 12.00 for a friday lunch, empty. Stayed empty throughout our lunch. Wanted to use the main... More

We chose the package, but looking at the prices on the menu, if you just want to eat here it's still tremendous value. The prices are much the same as any decent food pub, but the quality is completely different class. Excellent, locally sourced food, beautifully cooked and presented. A nice choice of real ales and wine, really friendly hosts,... More

Having been gifted a meal in one of my favourite pubs for my birthday with the added twist of an overnight stay thrown in I was suitably impressed by the hospitality and quality at what is surely becoming a legendary Ribble Valley Inn. The welcome and 'check-in' was faultless, beautiful rustic room, well equipped and immaculately presented. We tucked into... More

It’s almost in the middle of nowhere, but believe me it’s worth the trip. The views across to Pendle Hill and the Lancashire hills are just stunning. You have a great feeling before you go in. We received a warm friendly greeting on arrival, by Jonathan the owner. We were taken to our table by, a once again friendly young... More
