Always Superb

Been coming here for years with family and the service and food is always fantastic, you can really tell the chefs take pride in their cooking as they have often been out personally and asked us what we thought or if we liked a certain aspect of the meal. Enjoyed a pleasant drive up to this lovely pub yesterday and had Sunday lunch. When you enter this place [I nearly wrote 'when you enter The Buck'....but it didn't sound quite right!!] the first thing you get is lots of hello's from the staff. I can't remember the last time that happened. Everything feels and looks lovely and clean here.... More

The food was very nice and well presented, good wine and a friendly ish atmosphere, some staff members were very lovely and very helpful whilst others seemed more distracted. The restaurant as a whole could be a little more welcoming, it's nice enough and maybe because I went mid week there were very few people in but we were sat... More

Very warm and friendly, with really tasty pub style food. Not that easy to find, which is good, situated in the Lancs/Yorks countryside. Substantial size portions served by really nice people. Would be a regular if we didn't live in Lincolnshire.

Visited the Buck for lunch with my wife. No booking made just walking off the street, met by Rachel who was very pleasant. Ordered from the menu which was fully comprehensive, starters followed by steak & suet pudding. The food was well cooked and served by Sarah with a smile. Excellent portion size. The setting was of an old country... More

WOW!!!! Thank you for an amazing review. Your review was bang on the money, we are a real Country Public house run by Rachael and Husband Steve with Sarah (Rachael's Sister), Damien (Brother) Charlotte (Soon to be sister in Law) and other members of staff who have stood by us through thick and thin. They are all family to us... More

You probably wouldn't describe the Buck Inn as a Gastro pub but to me that's an actual positive. Nothing against Gastro pubs but it's just nice to have different offerings in the area. In other words it isn't trying to be a restaurant and they certainly aren't charging restaurant prices. It's a quite quirky rural pub that does all the... More

Called for the first time today because of the previous reviews and had a first class Sunday lunch. The service could not be faulted and was welcoming and friendly. The food was traditional and extremely well presented and there was a good variety of options on the menu as well as the four different roast options of beef, pork, lamb... More

We were in a holiday let near to this pub and went here our first night. whilst the bar area could do with some refurbishment the dining area was very pleasant. We discovered the Buck Inn over 11 years ago when we were out for a drive. We immediately felt at ease, as the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had lunch, which was excellent, and we have been regular customers ever since. We have had Breakfasts, Lunches, Dinners and now regularly go to the Xmas Day Lunch. This Inn... More
