Salt of the earth sort of pub

You probably wouldn't describe the Buck Inn as a Gastro pub but to me that's an actual positive. Nothing against Gastro pubs but it's just nice to have different offerings in the area. In other words it isn't trying to be a restaurant and they certainly aren't charging restaurant prices. It's... read more

Called for the first time today because of the previous reviews and had a first class Sunday lunch. The service could not be faulted and was welcoming and friendly. The food was traditional and extremely well presented and there was a good variety of options on the menu as well as the four different roast options of beef, pork, lamb... More

We were in a holiday let near to this pub and went here our first night. whilst the bar area could do with some refurbishment the dining area was very pleasant. We were shown to the bar area until our table was ready and given a menu to look at. There was plenty to choose from and all of the... More

We discovered the Buck Inn over 11 years ago when we were out for a drive. We immediately felt at ease, as the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had lunch, which was excellent, and we have been regular customers ever since. We have had Breakfasts, Lunches, Dinners and now regularly go to the Xmas Day Lunch. This Inn... More

My partner Lee and I stumbled across the Buck Inn on a Sunday Drive, nestled in lovely country side, is has a real rural feel to the place. At first when we entered the Buck Inn we were unsure if we should have a drink or eat, however the friendly bar staff, soon sold us the menu with the offer... More

We have just discovered this pub and have had 2 meals here so far. The food has been delicious and excellent value for money. My son said that the copper dragon beer was very good and my husband and I shared a very nice bottle of reasonably priced red wine. The staff are helpful and friendly and the pub has... More

We stumbled across this pub on our way to Kirkby Lonsdale. My husband had beef on a warm ciabatta and I had creamy Lancashire cheese. We both had hand cut chips, which were to die for. The pub is quaint, which we like and the staff were very friendly and efficient.
