Superb

We went for Sunday lunch a week ago and was so impressed we returned today with the kids (grown up). The beef was melt in the mouth, roast potatoes and creamy mash, loads of fresh veg. You also get a complementary starter so two courses for £8.95 is an absolute bargain.

Visited midweek,on the basis of reviews on this site. My wife ordered burger, and I had a dish which included gammon and chicken fillet. Both dishes were overlooked, and tasteless, and accompanied by Larry chips, which were awful The beer , Copper Dragon was poor also However the most striking and biggest disappointment was the whole ambience, and arrangement of... I have recently taken weekend residence at Ribble Valley ,arriving late one evening with a very hungry family. We decended including the children, we were welcomed by Rachael who found us a table, ordered and served in super quick time. The portions do not leave much room for desert including the children's. The food is all locally sourced produce cooked... More

It's a typical traditional pub. No airs and graces but true to itself. Friendly welcoming staff and a nice atmosphere. We found the food to be traditional no flares cooking. Well cooked and good. Homemade and fresh. Good portions, nice wine. You simply can't complain about this. Go and try it!

My husband and I call nearly every week on Monday evenings taking advantage of the most excellent 'Beat the chef' night. Also, every family birthday, we can be found enjoying the Buck food and lovely atmosphere. Rachael and her staff are always so welcoming and we feel totally at home. Food is always in plentiful supply and we never go... More

we have just had a meal at the buck and it is over ten years since we last went (that is our fault not a reflection on the place) It was a joy to find Rachel still running the place and Steve still locked in the kitchen. The food ten years ago was fantastic and it still is!! great quality... More

Just been back to the Buck and was delighted to find the same great quality food friendly welcome and good atmosphere. We had the prawn cocktail to start, great with plenty of prawns and juicy not dry as you find in some other places. Then the lamb shank which just fell of the bone in lovely tender pieces, served on... More

Went for sunday lunch today, quite basic, service was good. We had leek and potato soup, roast lamb, and a desert each and a bottle of wine. Bill came to 41 pound. I suppose you get what you pay for!

Not a very good review at all and something we take very seriously, what a shame we didn't tick all the right boxes. As a reviewer they had a great opportunity to tell us where we was going wrong which is a shame because we thrive on constructive criticism and learn from them, it helps us to build on our... More
