I went for my birthday, but have been a few times. It has a lovely atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent yet again.

Took my friend for lunch a couple of months back and we were appalled at both the service and quality of food served to us. My friends cheese ploughman's was a disaster from beginning to end with bad grapes, slimy lettuce and different cheeses to those ordered on her plate. Service was bad also with my having to go and... Accommodated 12 of us at short notice mid week, but be aware I understand this venue is very busy at weekends. Nice, varied decoration. Served promptly. Most of us had pizza which we all thought was very good for about £10. Menu is reasonably varied, but my wife's gluten free diet found a limited choice. Type of venue where people... More

We visited with a friend who had recommended 2 other cafes as his preference but they were closed so we visited the Emporium for afternoon tea .Pleasant staff, interesting, if a little dark décor. My lemon drizzle cup cake was rather heavy but husband reported his flapjack was excellent. As this café is on the first floor we used the... More

Basic straight forward no messing about food. You know where you are dining here and what to expect. Pleasant waiting staff who seem to genuinely care. Nothing too fancy and probably not the place for a very special occasion, but for the occasional lunch or dinner when in Clitheroe - why not! You won't go far wrong.

First visit Saturday lunch with large party of mixed ages. Lovely relaxed afternoon, delicious food. Very friendly smiley waitresses, who were happy to help when asked. Great atmosphere, would recommend.

We went at approx 3-30 and were greeted on arrival with a smile and advised to find a table. We ordered drinks and the we had a pizza and a burger . The burger was very tasty, the pizza was just as it should be very thin base, however very salty . The time taken to bring the food (35mins)... More

Been going to the Emporium for a long time and will continue to go. The service is relaxed (slow) the food is inconsistent but usually tasty and good value. The coffee is frankly shocking and the beer selection poor. But the atmosphere is ace. Gorgeous building and if you want to just chill it's perfect.
