Coffee and cake

The ambiance is second to none! It was, and almost always is, heaving. Service was good in spite of this. Coffee was hot and delicious whilst the cake was a little dry (we ate three of the choices on the menu!) Overall, an enjoyable experience but I would steer clear of cake and eat their... read more

The interior is interesting, it being an old building. Three couples went for lunch and 2 of us ordered the chicken and wild mushroom tagliatelli. I got approx 5 cubic centimetres of chicken and I agree the mushroom had gone wild because I couldn't find it. The sauce was tasty thanks to the parmesan but it was a high price... More

A really nice place with lots of quirkiness. We visited as part of a friend's and family group to celebrate a birthday .. The Emporium was extremely busy.. A table booked in advance and we were waiting over an hour to be shown to our table. Waited another hour for our food, which was nothing to write home about. Granted... More

We just wanted a light bite to eat for lunch, my husband opted for a salad and I had a vegetarian sharing board. We also ordered a child's menu for our one year old but she could only manage a bit of it. The venue is eclectic and there seems to be different areas of the cafe including an upstairs.... More

Went here on Mothers Day with my Mum and daughter but hadn't booked however we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to a table on the top floor. Our drinks order was taken promptly and we were left to peruse the updated and extensive menu which had plenty of choice for every taste and palate. We were informed that... More

Its a very impressive looking place and has a real atmosphere to it and is certainly a very nice venue and slightly different too. We visited on a midweek lunchtime and whilst we were quickly seated and a drinks order taken everything else happened at a pretty slow pace. Eventually someone took our order and then around 40 minutes later... More

Owned by the James' places group. I go to the Emporium several times each week, sometimes on my own for coffee & sometimes to dine with friends. I just love the ambiance! The staff are very attentive, courteous & helpful which is always a plus. There are a large selection of dishes offered on the menu, but unfortunately not so... More
